Utility Trailers

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

ATC is producing basic utility trailers.  In the past The Aluminum Trailer Company was only known for custom aluminum trailers.  Now ATC has launched a new line called the ravin light models.  These basic utility trailers are built in the same plant as our high end custom trailers.  By limiting the options on the utility trailers and looking closely at what areas we could be more efficient in we were able to create a high quality utility trailer at a low price.  But please know that when ATC says they have limited options that is for ATC standards in utility trailers.  If you take a moment and visit Aluminumtrailer.com look for the economy cargo trailers.  You can actually price your own trailer and find the dealer nearest you.  When you are ready to make your next utility trailer purchase make sure you check out ATC we now have a great utility trailer to fit your budget as well.

Mobile Power

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

There are so many applications for mobile power trailers.  ATC has designed and built what we call the mobile air, power, and light trailer.  The fire industry needs a way to provide light, air, and power to the disaster scene.  Our air, power and light trailers come with a powers 20 Kw diesel generator.  This allows enough power to light up the scene and run air equipment that is used to fill the tanks for the fire breathing apparatus.  Our air trailer is compact enough to be pulled with a ¾ ton truck but also provides enough room for the bottles to be easily filled from the inside of standing outside of the trailer.  It helps us insure the job is done correct without having to worry about tough environment on the outside of the mobile power trailer.  ATC is about to build a beautiful air power and light trailer that also provides a rehabilitation area for the fireman to recharge during deployment.  Keep an eye on www.aluminumtrailer.com/custom (emergency response section) after July 2010 you will see this first of its kind air, power, light and rehab trailer.

Enclosed Trailers

You could have had an enclosed trailer.  My guess is that many people think they can’t afford an enclosed trailer but have they considered all of the advantages?  First of all what did you spend on the equipment or toys you are transporting.  An enclosed trailer will keep them safe and secure.  Also an enclosed trailer will help keep your investments out of the public eye, I am sure you have heard the saying out of sight out of mind.  With an enclosed trailer you also create mobile storage for your toys. You also now have a mobile garage to work on your toys when you get to your destination.  Motiv and ATC have launched an all new line of inexpensive enclosed trailers called the ravin light series.  You might be surprised how inexpensive it can be to get a quality built enclosed trailer.  Check out our enclosed trailers on our website at www.aluminumtrailer.com

Dog House Trailers

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

The oil industry has used dog house trailers for your years.  It has really been a fitting name for the typical crew trailer in the industry.  The basic dog house trailer would include a rear door entry, a little shelter, knowledge box, and a couple lockers and that was about it.  Now ATC is in the dog house trailer business and things have changed.  The Aluminum trailer company has built hundreds of deluxe dog house trailers to fit our customer’s needs.  From basic steel locker trailers to high end aluminum dog house trailers ATC can custom design and build a trailer to meet your crews needs.  The all aluminum dog house trailers offers many benefits such as light weight, corrosion resistant and long term value.  We know your crew is going to be tough on your dog house trailer but with an aluminum dog house trailer after years of abuse ATC can refurbish your trailer at a fraction of the cost of buying a new one.

Take a moment to see just a few of the custom dog house trailers we have built and designed from the ground up.  Just hop on www.aluminumtrailer.com  then click on the custom section.  Look at the crew trailer section and you will see just a few of the great oil field trailers we have built.

Cargo Trailers

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Cargo trailers have long been an item you could only afford to buy from the cheap low quality manufactures in the cargo trailer world.  Well now ATC and Motiv offer an affordable line called the Raven Light.  ATC was tired of our dealers only using us as there high end or custom shop so we decided to see what it would take for us to make an affordable cargo trailer.  Now we offer a full line of aluminum and steel cargo trailers.  Take a moment to visit our website www.aluminumtrailer.com and look for the economy cargo trailers.  You will also be able find a dealer nearest you.  We offer a full line of standard options in our cargo trailers but if that is not enough check out the ATC (aluminum) SSX or the Motiv (steel) MSX.  With these models the sky is the limit for your custom cargo trailer.  Please consider ATC or Motiv in your next cargo trailer purchase.  You will not be disappointed.

Trailer Dealers

Friday, June 25th, 2010

There is quite a bit that goes into the making and selling of a premier trailer. You have to have good relationships with vendors so they deliver parts and material on time. You have to have a good team of engineers so that you know the trailer is designed properly and will hold up for whatever application or purpose it was designed for. You have to have a good production work force who can take the concepts designed by engineering and make it into reality. But you can’t do any of this stuff unless you have an outstanding dealer body.

As one of our production workers likes to say, “you can’t build a quote”. You have to close the deal in order to build anything. For that we rely on our outstanding network of trailer dealers. Sure we have an in house sales staff. And they are critical for what we do, but it is our dealers who are working directly with the end customer. It is the dealer who bring us the trailer order so that we can build it. It is our dealer who then delivers our product back to the end retail customer. It is our dealer who steps up for any service, warranty or other issues that come up after the sale has been completed. Aluminum Trailer Company and Motiv Trailers take great pride in the relationship we have with our dealers. We have to communicate effectively and be on the same page or it is ultimately the end customer who loses out. We stand behind our dealers. It is our goal and desire to give them all the support they need in order to make the sale as smooth as possible for you, the end customer. Visit our website at www.aluminumtrailer.com and utilize our dealer locator feature to find your nearest dealer. Or call us at 877-441-2440 and we would be happy to refer you to your nearest dealer.

Mobile Power Trailers

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

The trailer industry is evolving. Fifty years ago it was mainly cargo and concession style trailers and there weren’t a whole of lot of options for folks to choose from. In the last twenty years, car haulers, gooseneck and the like have gained popularity. There are also many more choices for people to go when they are looking for a trailer company. That list narrows however, when someone is looking for a specific, custom application use for a trailer such as for a mobile power source. This is a trailer which needs extra engineering, quality control and production know how to produce.

The Aluminum Trailer Company has partnered with several national companies to do various projects in the mobile power trailer arena. One outfit that ATC has worked frequently with deals directly with the National Guard on various projects. One such project was a mobile power and communications trailer. The specific project called for trailers which would be up fitted with satellite and generator power sources. The trailers would then be mobilized in the event of a natural disaster when communication and power sources were down. The trailer could be used to organize critical relief response to the disaster.

If you are working with a government entity or with a private organization and have a need for a mobile power source then the Aluminum Trailer Company can help design and build what you are looking for. Visit us at www.aluminumtrailer.com for a wide range of examples of not just mobile power trailers, but also communication, command center and other types as well.

Specialty Trailers

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

There are literally thousands of applications for the trailers that we build. It constantly amazes me the uses and applications that people come to us with for our specialty trailers. This comes with the territory when you are known in the industry as the premier manufacturer of custom and specialty trailers.

There are way too many to chose from, but one of my favorite specialty trailer applications that we have done a fair amount of are wine bottling trailers. In this specialty application, a company will come to us and in tandem with our engineering team, design from the ground up a trailer which will be loaded with wine bottling equipment. Once all the equipment is installed the trailer will go to different vineyards to set up shop and viola, you have an instant mobile wine operation. This helps the small farmers who may not want to invest in their own equipment in a permanent building. This is costly and not the most efficient. If they hire the specialty trailer with the equipment installed, they only pay for what they use. This is a win both for the smaller farmer and for the operators of the mobile specialty trailer.

The above example is but one of hundreds of specialty trailers that we have manufactured at the Aluminum Trailer Company. Visit our website at www.aluminumtrailer.com to see thousands of pictures in our robust photo gallery. Maybe we have already done something you are considering. If we have not, there is a great chance that we can help you dial in and figure out exactly what you want.

Enclosed Trailers

Friday, June 18th, 2010

When I first got into the trailer business, I really didn’t know much about enclosed trailers.  As the years have passed, I have learned a tremendous amount about enclosed trailers from our customers.  I’ve learned what is important and what is the fluffy, foo-foo stuff that doesn’t really provide any value.

I remember my first trip down to Daytona for the race show before the 500.  I sat down with racer after racer and learned that a quality design and good fit-and-finish just cannot be beat.  There is no shortage of trailer manufacturers out there just pumping out the same old stuff with lackluster quality.  We have built our enclosed trailers around a different customer.  Our customers recognize precision craftsmanship and quality of design.

By steering out business this direction and taking the upper road, yeah, we miss out on some of the massive amounts of cheap trailers that are sold, but we can sleep well at night knowing that we build the best stuff out there.  Our customers recognize this and continue coming back.

Check us out at the race track next time or just click onto our website, I’m confident you’ll learn a lot about the little things that make ATC/Motiv beat to a different drum.  Happy Trailering!

Mobile Office Trailer

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

What would you consider a mobile office?  Those trailers you see on construction sites that are only temporary.  The kind that look like stripped down mobile homes?  What if a guy with a Blackberry conducts all his business at the local Starbucks while using their signal? Is that his office?

I guess that really either could be considered a mobile office.  However, the one seems a little undermanned and the other a little too permanent.  If you are looking for a truly mobile office you need a mobile office trailer.  That’s where I can help. I build trailers for ATC (www.aluminumtrailer.com) and among all the trailers that we build are mobile office trailers.  Why a trailer?  Well really it’s the wheels!  You can’t get any more mobile than that.

Whether it’s an office for fire control, construction site, service business you are truly mobile with wheels under your office.  We have built mobile office trailers for all of those and many more.  It’s exactly what you need.   And did I mention you can still have your Blackberry and Starbucks.  Happy Trailering!

Enclosed Trailers

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

Do you know what the difference is between inclose or enclose?   Or the variants of those inclosed or enclosed?   Well as it turns out there isn’t any difference they both mean the same thing. However the preferred spelling or usage just happens to be “enclosed”.   Now that may not mean much to most people but I just happen to be in the business of making enclosed trailers, and since we advertise we really do try to get things like spelling and grammatical nuances correct.  I don’t know how much longer that will actually be important in the age of texting and twitter it seems that you can just make things up as you go along.

Let’s get back to that enclosed trailers thing for a moment.  Of course you were wondering what that means?   Well weren’t you?   An enclosure structurally is like a fence around property or more specifically like a porch on your house, but now you put glass around it.   Voila! You now have an enclosed room that used to be an open to the weather porch.  That may not mean much to some people, but try reading the Sunday morning paper on your porch in Indiana in January.  You would immediately understand why enclosing it with glass makes a lot of sense.   If I built enclosed porches, I would continue down this path but I don’t so I won’t.

I make enclosed trailers (www.aluminumtrailer.com) and I was just trying to get my point across in a way most people would understand.  You can buy many types of trailers and many of them are open like your front porch, and they work very well for some things, but if you want things dry and not exposed to the elements of the weather you need an enclosed trailer.  What kind of enclosed trailer? Well I could tell you now but that would spoil my fun.  LOL (that’s one of those texting things I was talking about).  Maybe next time we can talk about the different kinds of enclosed trailers, until then Happy Trailering!

Gooseneck Trailers

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

Specialty Trailers

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

It’s hard to know where to begin when talking about custom, specialty trailer capabilities with The Aluminum Trailer Company and Motiv Trailers.  I would like to say “we’ve done it all” but then again I’m sure there is a company out there that would love to prove me wrong.  At The Aluminum Trailer Company and Motiv Trailers we have designated a group of employees for the purpose of solving your custom trailer needs.  We have worked with many different companies in designing mobile medical, mobile offices, air support, marketing and vendor, custom concession, wine bottling trailers, mobile simulation, emergency response, field service, bunk, bathroom and mobile production trailers.  By visiting our website at www.aluminumtrailer.com you will be able to view the impressive units we have produced.  Hopefully, you will gain inspiration from the units we have completed to design the perfect trailer to meet your complex needs.

Cargo Trailers

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

We at The Aluminum Trailer Company and Motiv Trailers are well known for having the ability to build unique and custom trailers.  While this might be the case, we have been working hard to cover all aspects of trailer utilization.  Even though we have the competence and capability to build mobile medical units and air support trailers we also would like to make it known that we build a remarkable cargo trailer as well.  We have worked hard over the past 10 years to design trailers for all different types of applications, from landscape cargo trailers equipped with a single bathroom and sink to a simple yet stunning cargo trailer used for hauling whatever your needs may be.   Our Raven Lites are extremely price competitive and available in both steel and aluminum.  Check online at www.aluminumtrailer.com for your nearest dealer for pricing and availability.

Enclosed Trailers

Monday, April 26th, 2010

What kind of enclosed trailer are you in the market for?  We make just about any and every style of enclosed trailer.  At ATC and Motiv, our product offering ranges from the little 5’ x 8’ enclosed cargo trailer all the way up to the 53’ transporter.  One of the key benefits in working with ATC and Motiv on your enclosed trailer is that we offer steel frame or aluminum frame trailers.  Our enclosed trailer models are diverse enough to allow us to manufacture EXACTLY what suits your specific need.

If you are looking for the $250,000 custom communication trailer, we can build the entire project in house.  However if you find your need a bit more simplified, we also build the price competitive cargo trailers for the occasional weekend user.  The advantage of ATC and Motiv is that no matter what level of enclosed trailer you are looking for, you can rest assured that ATC and Motiv provides exceptional quality and value in each trailer we build.  Yeah, other people build enclosed trailers, we just do it better!

Commercial Trailers

Friday, April 23rd, 2010

Commerical TrailerATC and Motiv Trailers build a wide variety of commercial trailers.  One of the hottest segments of the commercial trailer market has been the mobile marketing trailers.  These trailers are typically set up with sides that fold down and create a stage around the trailer.  This allows owners to invite customers into their mobile shop space and display their products.  It creates an inviting environment where customers can easily and naturally interact with the products that are being displayed.  We’ve also built many of these stage trailers for show car displays too.  We’ve heard time and time again, there simply is no better way to display a hot looking show car than with a custom stage.

Another growing segment in commercial trailers has been the mobile concession market.  These trailers range from mobile food vending trailers to the T-shirt vending trailers found on the NASCAR circuit.  ATC and Motiv have been industry leaders in commercial trailers due to our unmatched level of quality and craftsmanship.  When it comes to making you look good in front of your customer, nothing compares to the quality of and ATC or Motiv trailer.  Call us to discuss your project today!

Gooseneck Trailers

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

The Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC) and Motiv Trailers build a wide range of trailers. We build enclosed cargo trailers, tag, stacker and concession trailers. However, where our company really shines is with our enclosed gooseneck trailers.

Our gooseneck trailers (either steel or aluminum) can be used in a wide variety of applications. Whether you need to haul a large amount of stuff,  have a racing team and need a trailer to haul your cars or need any number of mobile applications (office, laboratory, class room, wine bottling, etc, etc. ) our gooseneck trailer can fill your need.

A gooseneck trailer has a variety of benefits over a tag trailer. The most obvious one is the trailer length. While our tags are limited to around 30 feet or so in length, our goosenecks can go all the way up to 53 feet! This allows for tremendous flexibility in customization and use. Another benefit is quality of the ride. With a gooseneck (or a fifth wheel) the trailer hitch will be connected either within the bed of the pickup or to the back of the semi trailer This is different from our tag or cargo units which are attached to the rear of the tow vehicle. This allows for better weight distribution, tighter turn radiuses and a smoother over all ride.

Cargo Trailers and Enclosed Trailers

Friday, April 16th, 2010

When it comes to enclosed trailers we at ATC can build just about anything.  From the $1500 cargo trailer up to the $200,000 command center.  Everything in between those two items we have the ability to build.  Last spring we noticed that we have the capacity to build more trailers than we were building so we introduced our raven lite line of cargo trailers.  We have always excelled in building larger enclosed trailers that require more engineering capabilities.  Enclosed trailers in this category are much different than building simple cargo trailers.   We have a special kind of workforce that has the capability finish out the enclosed trailers in a special way.  Customers that buy larger and more expensive enclosed trailers have higher standards and higher expectations about what the product needs to do and look like.  Many enclosed trailers, unlike cargo trailers, have to be approached with a project mentality rather than a trailer that’s going to run down the line in a day or so.  These enclosed trailers test the limits of most manufacturers and typically end with an unsatisfied customer and dealer.  Cargo trailers have customers and needs that are much easier to meet expectations.  We have been constantly challenged by unique enclosed trailer needs and are able to meet or exceed our customer’s expectations.  As we have developed our line of lower cost cargo trailers, we have been surprised by the number of customers that are willing to pay a bit more for a nicer product.  Our cargo trailer line has been especially popular with people that want a low cost trailer that has a lighter weight aluminum frame.  Our cargo trailers are available with a low cost aluminum upgrade that has been very popular, especially with our Canadian customers.  We can offer cargo trailer dealers the ability to sell a large custom product to a large or demanding enclosed trailer application.    We are quickly becoming a recognized name in a very crowded enclosed trailer market.

Race Trailers

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

It’s that time of the year again; IHRA and NHRA 2010 season has arrived!  NHRA’s 2010 schedule will kick off the beginning of their season with Kragen O’Reilly 50th winter nationals at Auto Club Raceway in Pomona (Feb. 11-14).  IHRA’s next race will be held in Baton Rouge, LA on March 6th and 7th.  With summer just around the corner it’s time to start thinking about what trailer you will be using for the upcoming season.  Luckily the Aluminum Trailer Company has had you in mind!  We have created a Fastlane package for our aluminum trailer line and a Redline package for our steel trailer line.  These two packages encompass everything you need and more for your new 2010 race trailer.  Some package features on both units include screwless exterior, aluminum interior walls, 110 lighting and electrical, 7’ interior height, floor and ramp covering, cabinets and much more.  On top of all this, for a limited time only we are running a special promotion with 24’ ATC Fastlane starting at $17,380 and 24’ Motiv Redlines as low as $12,890!   Check out our website for more information and further detail on these amazing products www.aluminumtrailer.com.

Command Center Trailers

Friday, March 19th, 2010

If you are looking for a command center trailer, you have come to the right place.  Honestly, there really aren’t many trailer manufacturers out there that can handle this caliber of trailer project.  ATC and Motiv offer the quality, fit and finish and engineering expertise that is required for this type of project.  Our engineering team will fully design your custom command center trailer on our 3-D CAD software and share prints with you prior to constructing your command center trailer.  By investing this amount of time and effort into your project we are able to make sure we are building exactly the trailer that suits for your application.  We will not begin construction on your command center trailer until we have your full approval to move forward into production.

Another huge benefit of working with ATC and Motiv trailers is that nearly 100% of the project will be completed by our team members all under one roof.  The idea of having a trailer company build a trailer then ship it across the country and have another company outfit the trailer with the necessary cabinets and electronics is far from ideal.  Because we have such great experience in command center trailers, we have recognized that the best way to exceed the needs of our customers is to do all the work right here in our facility.

Call and talk to one of our sales specialist here at ATC and Motiv Trailers and we’ll be happy to help you on your next command center trailer.

Snowmobile Trailers

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

If you are anything like me, you’re very tired of looking outside your window at a bunch of snow.  The best way to survive these endless last days of winter is to make the best of the situation – get outside and enjoy it, because it’s not going away for at least a month or so.  And a great way to enjoy the winter outdoors is on your snowmobile.  We’re here to help you get your sleds where the action is!

ATC and Motiv Trailers are quite well known for our race car haulers, motorcycle trailers, and custom/commercial applications.  Fewer people seem to be aware that we also build a sweet all-aluminum snowmobile trailer – the ATC NorthStar.  This trailer has it all, from our rugged full perimeter frame to the lightweight, non-rusting, ALL aluminum construction.  We build you a super light, fabulous looking trailer that is also going to be able to take tons of punishment outdoors and still look new even years down the road.  And just like everything else we do at ATC and Motiv, this trailer is available exactly how you want it.  Keep it simple, or load it up with cabinets, aluminum wheels, interior aluminum walls, window, fuel doors…the list goes on and on.  And if you love our product but are looking for a more economical choice, check out our Motiv steel snow trailer.  This has all the quality and class you expect from an ATC, but with the lower price of steel.  Plus all the same options are available!

So no matter what kind of snow hauler you’re looking for, we’ve got the perfect trailer for you.  We at ATC and Motiv pride ourselves on building you a world class trailer that is going to help you survive the end of winter blues for years to come.

Custom Trailers

Monday, March 15th, 2010

Custom trailers have always been a special part of our business here at ATC.  We have a workforce that is very quality minded and have a craftsmen approach to building trailers.  We haven’t always been as cost conscious as we could have been but our main goal of building custom trailers is that we meet the customers’ expectations.  When building custom trailers it can sometimes be difficult to give the customer exactly what he/she wants.  That’s why we offer 3D prints for all of our custom trailers.  This helps the customer picture what they are getting before its built.  Each custom trailer has an easy to read order form and corresponding prints.  Many of our competitors have decided not to build highly custom trailers anymore.  They have decided that it is too difficult and too costly to maintain the engineering staff as well as the workforce that will be able to provide the fit and finish that a demanding customer requires.  Our custom trailer line is going to be continually improving our response time as well as our communication with customers.    Custom trailers are the most demanding type of trailers to build and we have done a good job of providing them to our dealer base.
