The PRI Trade Show
Monday, November 29th, 2010Race Car Trailers
Wednesday, November 17th, 2010In the racing industry there are many different kinds of race car trailers. The weekend racers have their own style of race car trailer. The hobbyists have their own version of race car trailers as well. As you go up the scale into bigger time racing there is a whole different market of race car trailers. Very large racers such as bush series or Nascar use semi trailers for their race car trailers. They pull their race car trailers with a large tractor. At ATC we build race car trailers in each category. From the very smallest go-cart trailers to the largest semi type race car trailers. Each market has different needs inside of their race car haulers but they all accomplish the same things. We have the unique ability to supply both aluminum race car trailers and steel race car trailers. Each time someone approaches us with a specific request for a race car hauler we are able to deliver to them the exact product that they are looking for.
Toy Hauler Trailers
Friday, October 15th, 2010There is no better way to escape the stress of everyday life than to load up your toys and head for the great outdoors! And what better way to do that than in an ATC and Motiv toy hauler trailer? Our premium quality toy haulers will maximize your adventure, no matter what type of toy you choose to haul. ATV’s, jeeps, dune buggies, motorcycles, dirt bikes, and more – bring it on! We promise we’ll step up to the plate, no matter how heavy the cargo or rugged the terrain.
We offer a t1 and t2 toy hauler package on both our ATC all-aluminum frame and our Motiv steel platform. Plus, you can put the package on our motorcycle model for a smaller toy hauler, or our car hauler models for a bigger cargo area. And best of all, if you want to add some extras, or tweak the floorplan to meet your specific needs – it’s no problem! We at ATC and Motiv pride ourselves on the fact that we rarely build the same trailer twice. Our top priority is to design your trailer EXACTLY how you want it, with the high quality you demand.
Our t1 toy hauler trailers offer a flat-front design, with toilet, shower, and kitchenette complete with refrigerator, cooktop, and microwate. The compact design keeps your trailer easy to handle while maximizing your cargo space. If you want to enlarge the living quarter area, the t2 toy hauler is the perfect choice. This floorplan is based on a 4’ wedge nose design, with the bathroom up front for a bit more space. The t2 package also adds a wardrobe and linen closet, optional TV package, and more counter space in the kitchenette. Of course, with both toy hauler packages we offer unlimited options in both your living area and your garage. So let ATC and Motiv toy hauler trailers help you escape and extend your adventure in the great outdoors…you owe it to yourself!
RV Trailers
Tuesday, October 5th, 2010As a sales coordinator at ATC and Motiv, I have to say that our RV trailers are some of my favorite projects to work on. Sure, they can be complex, and require close contact with the customer and extreme attention to detail – but the finished product is so amazing it gives me a great sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.
Did you even know ATC and Motiv offers an RV trailer product line? We do – our 12’ living quarters and 14’ living quarters packages are available in both our ATC all-aluminum and Motiv steel frame models. In fact, if you want sheer luxury, an ATC & Motiv RV trailer is the best way to go! Plus, how many of the big RV manufacturers will allow you to customize their floorplans? We welcome your ideas and will design you a trailer built exactly the way you want it!
Need another reason to have ATC and Motiv build your RV trailer? We build every single piece of your trailer right here in our facility! Your doors, aluminum cabinets, hydraulic slide-outs, even the solid oak or maple cabinetry for the living quarters – they are all designed and crafted in the same building by the same talented builders. So there’s never a problem if you want to modify something to meet your specific needs. And whether you want a 14’ toy hauler or 14’ of living quarters with 38’ of room in your garage for your race cars and tools, it’s no problem for us! Check out ATC and Motiv’s RV trailer line for your next home away from home…we promise you’ll be glad you did!
Open Trailers
Tuesday, September 21st, 2010For ATC, open trailers are a product that we have limited numbers of. We have a 16’ open trailer only in aluminum. We have an 18’ open trailer only in aluminum. We have a 20’ open trailer only in aluminum. These open trailers are designed to haul cars. Our open trailers can be used for other things as well. The fenders are removable on our open trailer so that a car can be parked and the doors open. Open trailers in all shapes and sizes are pretty common and it seems as though everyone is building them. Because we are good at working with aluminum, we have decided that open trailers are something that we can build and do a good job with in a narrow way. Open trailers for cars are on the high end of the open trailer market but it doesn’t feel as though the rest of the market is a place for us. Open trailers continue to be a niche for us.
Living Quarters Trailers
Monday, September 20th, 2010When you are out at your event and you are either having fun or working, have you ever wished that you could have a place to relax to unwind to take a break? You are probably thinking first what the heck am I talking about and second even if you don’t know what I am talking about yes of course.
First things first! Let’s say you are a racer and you are at a weekend race. You are going to be there with your family a couple of days. You only actually race a couple of heats and the rest of the time you are working on your car. What does your family do? Also what do you do when the day is over? Do you have to leave and go to a hotel? Well the answer to all these questions is to have a car hauler trailer with a living quarters in the front. Then your family can relax, watch TV, play games, or even nap. You can also take a break when you need to and then there will no trip to the hotel at the end of the day. Look at it from a financial prospective you will eventually save enough money to pay for the trailer. Why do I care? Because we build Living Quarters Trailers at ATC (www.aluminumtrailer.com) and we want to build you a trailer.
Well what if you don’t race but really need a trailer for your mobile business. Again we have you covered. We can build the working portion of your trailer to your exact business needs, and then the living quarters for your on the road home. There really isn’t too much that we can’t build. Why don’t you try us? Until later. Happy Trailering!!
Open Car Haulers
Friday, September 17th, 2010Don’t need an enclosed car hauler? An open car hauler may be your trailer of choice.
ATC builds open car haulers in lengths from 16’, 18’ and 20’. ATC offers open car haulers with tandem 3500# axles and with tandem 5200# axles. Standard features on an ATC open car hauler include: 4 recessed D rings in the floor, all aluminum construction, extruded floor decking, rear storing loading ramps, removable fenders, LED lights, and radial tires.
Open car haulers are lightweight, easy to pull, and very easy to maintain. ATC has designed its open car hauler with an extruded deck and a full perimeter frame. Our open car hauler is designed strong enough to handle up to 6000 pounds of payload without the need for steel reinforcements. This unique design allows ATC to build one of the lightest and strongest open car haulers in the industry. ATC’s perimeter frame open car hauler design differs from our competitors design in that our sub frames strength comes from our tube frame which runs all the way to the outside of our sub frame. Not like most open car haulers that rely on a frame that includes outriggers as a key part of the structure.
Nearly ten years of quality open car haulers on the highway! ATC is the open car hauler that you want behind your truck.
Buy an ATC open car hauler trailer today! You will be glad you did.
The Trailer Industry
Thursday, September 16th, 2010We are the new kids on the block. The Aluminum Trailer Company has been around for 10 years. Motiv Trailers has been around for 6 years. We are young compared to some of our competitors and especially some of the big boys. Of course everyone knows that 2009 was a rough year for not just our industry, but for the entire world economy. What is exciting for me when I look at our company is that we survived 2009! Many of our fellow trailer manufacturers did not make it all or had to merge with another company (either trailer industry or in an industry completely separate) in order to survive.
We did not need to merge and we were able to keep our ownership structure intact throughout this very rough period. This has allowed us to be in a very good position to serve your needs not only for the immediate year of 2010 for also for many years to come. When you deal with Aluminum Trailer Company, you know you are dealing with a company who has survived the worst that the economy could throw at us and are standing on the other side ready to take a big role in bringing our industry back. You are also dealing with a company in which all the major shareholders are also employees. This gives you an unbelievable amount of commitment to make sure that ATC gives you exactly what you are looking for, in exactly the format and up to the exact quality standards that you demand. Please visit us at www.aluminumtrailer.com to see what we have to offer. We promise that you will not be disappointed if you pick us to take care of your next project.
Open Car Haulers
Tuesday, September 14th, 2010What do we usually mean when we say something is open? You know instead of closed, locked, not available just to name a few things that open is not. The reason I ask is that I work in an industry that like many other niche industries has many esoteric terms and descriptions for the things we make. If I say to you that ATC (www.aluminumtrailer.com) makes Open Car Haulers would that mean anything to you? You might think I was talking about availability meaning it’s available, it’s not yet sold, it’s open!
Well that’s all correct, but misses the main idea. In this case open means not covered. You know open to the weather. Not enclosed. Open for all the world to see. This then gets to our next point which is the car hauler part of open. We now know what open means and car hauler is a little easier to grasp. Therefore class an Open Car Hauler is a trailer that is built to haul or transport a car and the car is exposed or open.
Your next question has to be, why in the heck would I want to do that? First it is the most affordable way to buy and own a car hauler trailer. It is basic transportation. Second it’s cool everyone gets to see your great car. As you are passing them on the highway they are looking and saying to themselves …. Wow I wish I had a cool car like that.
If you’d like to make that happen, give us a call and we’ll build one for you. Happy Trailering!
Race Car Haulers
Friday, September 10th, 2010Before I started working at The Aluminum Trailer Company six years ago, I couldn’t tell you the difference between one car hauler and another. I’m not even sure I could tell you what a car hauler was! What a difference six years makes. Not only have I gained an appreciation for the car hauler, I am convinced that ATC and Motiv trailers builds the best car haulers in the market today. This is especially true for the racing circuit. Our company has been around for a little over 10 years now. We have spent that time not only perfecting our aluminum framed trailers, but also listening to what our customers were asking of us. The result of this pursuit of the ultimate race car hauler is our Quest series (both gooseneck and tag) in ATC, our RSX series (both gooseneck and tag) in Motiv and our signature stacker series in both companies.
We feel that in terms of quality, fit and finish and value, our car haulers are the industry leaders. The great thing about ATC and Motiv trailers is no matter if you are looking for a unit you can pick up right off a dealers lot of you have exact specifications you need to meet, we can build your trailer. Our design, sales process is second to none. This allows us work with you to design exactly what you need. If you do not need a custom trailer and price is your biggest consideration, we have some options for you there as well in our standard product line. Visit us at www.aluminumtrailer.com to see what we have to offer. We know that you will be pleased if you chose to go with an ATC or Motiv car hauler.
Motorcycle Trailers
Thursday, September 9th, 2010Motorcycles are an important hobby for many folks. Motorcycle trailers need to be done and done well. We build motorcycle trailers in both steel and aluminum to meet the needs of all types of motorcycles. We believe that our motorcycle trailers are unmatched when it comes to fit and finish. When owners go to shows and other places they want to make sure that their motorcycle trailers work both in form and function. Fit and finish is one of the things that we pride ourselves in for our of our trailers. Motorcycle trailers are no different. Motorcycle trailers need to have trim that fits and sealant that is put on in a way that looks like it’s a part of the trailer and not an after thought. We build the ultimate motorcycle trailer in our Silver trek line. It is a very expensive motorcycle trailer but looks beautiful. We also build motorcycle trailers with living quarters as well. With the number of people that like to go to shows and stay, motorcycle trailer manufacturers are producing more trailers like this. We build approximately 100 motorcycle trailers per year if you add all of the units that are built with a motorcycle in mind. Most of our trailers are used for multiple numbers of things. Motorcycle trailers can be used for many items as well.
Motorcycle Trailers
Thursday, September 9th, 2010I know we’ve talked about this before but it just seems to me that if you own a motorcycle that you obviously drive than why would you need a trailer to haul it from place to place? Well it occurred to me that maybe I was being just a little harsh to the motorcycle riding community. I was also being a little short sighted regarding my own livelihood because I work at a company that makes motorcycle trailers. So let me just say I’m sorry to every bike addict out there that occasionally likes to haul their bike before they ride it.
Let’s also look at the very good reasons for why you would use a motorcycle trailer. Safety of course comes to mind, since you’ll be in your truck and not on your bike for many miles. Security as well, since your bike will be locked away in your trailer both on the road and after you ride your bike. But perhaps the biggest reason of all is to protect your investment, and the less really hard miles, the protection from the weather, and the piece of mind that your pride and joy is safe.
If you think this sounds good to you contact us at www.aluminumtrailer.com and we would be happy to build your motorcycle trailer for you. Happy Trailering !!
When is a trailer not a trailer?
Tuesday, September 7th, 2010When is trailer not a trailer? The reason I’ve asked the question is that we are sometimes asked to make a trailer that can be moved easily from place to place, but once it arrives at its destination it’s not supposed to look like a trailer. We in this case is the Aluminum Trailer Company (www.aluminumtrailer.com). That’s where we build all kinds of trailers, including the aforementioned trailer that is not supposed to look like a trailer. As a matter of fact it is supposed to look like your den or family room.
The trailer we made is used as a display for game system demonstrations. When it is in transit it is closed with walls that are hinged and fold into the body of the trailer. Once it arrives it is opened to reveal well …. Your den or family room. We do some pretty amazing specialty trailers at the Aluminum Trailer Company, but this one is probably the top of the list. Besides all that it is not just one trailer but seven of the same type. When you see them set up and operating you definitely would not think that they are anything other than a stationary room built exactly at the place it sitting.
Why would you care about this? Well you just might need trailer, or why else would you be reading this. My point is that we would like to build you a trailer and the more complex or special the better for us, because we can do specialty trailers that other companies only dream of. Good Luck and Happy Trailering!!!!
Mobile Labs
Friday, September 3rd, 2010ATC is continually building and designing custom mobile labs to meet the demands of onsite service in all kinds of industries. Recently we have building mobile labs for the oil industry. The geologist that work at the well site need a mobile lab to test research samples in comfortable environment. Take a look at the mobile lab pictures. You will see that the basics are there but also built tough to last a long time. With building these mobile labs with an all aluminum frame the maintenance will be low, the reduced weight make them simpler to tow and opens up the possibility of using small trucks that most people can drive without needing the CDL license.
ATC is more then capable of helping you design your own mobile lab or office. Feel free to give us a call. We look forward to working with you.
Race Car Haulers
Thursday, September 2nd, 2010ATC has been building all aluminum race car haulers for almost 11 years now. http://www.aluminumtrailer.com/car%20haulers take a look at the 2009 Quest with Plexiglas. This unique race car hauler is enclosed but allow people to see the race car or classic car that you want displayed. This concept of race car hauler has also been used for marketing of new model year cars.
Our all aluminum race car haulers don’t just stop at the bumper pull versions we can build you a 53’ lift gate trailer as well. Is your budget pretty tight? Then consider our Motiv RSX race car hauler. This is a steel framed version of our aluminum trailers. ATC is very diversified and experienced in building race car haulers. Please give us a call and we will help you get yours built.
Commercial Trailers-Breathing Air and Rehab Trailer
Wednesday, September 1st, 2010ATC just completed another spectacular Fire trailer. This air trailer included everything you need for refilling your breathing air tanks in a remote scenario. The back half of the trailer was fitted with filling station and containment unit, DOT bottles and storage for the scba bottles. In the front of the breathing air and rehab trailer was everything the firemen will need to rest and be revitalized. It also works as a mini’ command center. The rehab area has plenty of seating, bathroom, heat and air conditioning to recharge the crew during the long mission. Please take a look at the pictures on our website. http://www.aluminumtrailer.com/custom%20trailers/emergency%20response
As you will see almost every inch of this trailer served a purpose.
Living Quarter Trailers
Tuesday, August 31st, 2010Over the years ATC has developed several Living quarters trailer packages. We now offer a 12’ and 14’ (with slide out) living quarter package for gooseneck and fifth wheel trailers and various bathroom packages for the bumper pull trailers. The Living quarter trailer package is shown on our website at http://www.aluminumtrailer.com/living%20quarters For example lets look at the 12’ Living quarter package. It is a spacious set up that sleeps four. Full amenities are included.
ATC living quarter trailers are not the typical RV toy hauler you are probably used to seeing. We start with a custom car hauler frame then add your living quarter. Our wood cabinets are real oak or maple or cherry, built in our own cabinet shop. If you want actual corian countertops in your living quarters we can do that as well. This is just the beginning. If you need a garage to meet your custom specs or needs we will help you get what you want as well. Please give us a call to discuss your next or first living quarter trailer.
Advantech Floor in ATC and Motiv Trailers
Monday, August 30th, 2010Every once in a while we get customers asking us why we use Advantech floors in our trailers… Here’s the scoop.
There really is only one downside to Advantech and that is that customers sometimes initially think it is just cheap chipboard and we are cutting corners to save cost. A simple look into Advantech proves otherwise.
The true facts are that Advantech was created by Huber Woods out Charlotte, North Carolina for the housing industry. They created this board because housing contractors were complaining that the standard plywood sub floors on their houses were delaminating when it sat unprotected in the snow, sleet and rain. Huber woods created Advantech to withstand the moisture that was destroying the plywood subfloors. Advantech is a manufactured wood board but it is different than any other OSB on the market. It is made with non-water soluble glue and it is compressed with 4 times the pressure than that of a normal OSB. If you look at the board close up you will clearly see the difference between this board and any other OSB.
Advantech is used exclusively in our snowmobile trailers and it works better than any other product. The snow comes and melts but it does not penetrate the board. All you have to do is simply sweep the water out of the trailer. Due to the density of the board it also does well holding up against the sharp snowmobile carbides. With a plywood floor, you need to change the plywood every few years because the carbides tear the plywood to sheds. With Advantech the carbides will scratch and mar the surface, but it will not penetrate the board. We’ve seen many “well seasoned” snowmobile trailers come in with noting more than scratches on the floor… nothing like a plywood floor.
Another huge benefit Advantech provides is in on our wide body car haulers. Advantech can be ordered in any width we want, whereas plywood can only be ordered in at 96″ wide. On a 102″ wide body trailer that means that there has to be a silly 3” plywood seam the entire length of there trailer. With Advantech we order our boards in at 99″ wide so it PERFECTLY fits into a wide body frame design.
Race Car Haulers
Friday, August 27th, 2010We sure have grown up a fair bit since the first race car hauler we built and showed down in Daytona back in February of 2000. I’ll be honest, that first ATC race car hauler trip to Daytona was a struggle. Some of the top trim came off on my way down to Florida and my dad and I spent the better part of a day looking for it along the highway. Somehow, by the grace of God, we found it! We popped it back on and continued on the show. To say we were a bit “green” in the race car hauler business would be quite an understatement.
I’m happy to say over the past 11 years we have done a lot of growing up and we have learned a tremendous amount from our customers and dealers. We now find ourselves deep into the race car hauler business with an overflowing list of satisfied customers. We thank all of you who helped us get here and have had a part in our success.
While we have learned a lot and enjoyed some success over the years, part of being a great company is never getting complacent. I’m happy to say that we are continuing to grow and improve our race car haulers. We invite you to see the new product launch at this years PRI (Performance Racing Industry) show in Orlando Florida. We promise you will not be disappointed with the new look and features in our ATC and Motiv race car haulers.
Toy Hauler Trailers
Thursday, August 26th, 2010Toy hauler trailers are similar to living quarter trailers in that they have some of the same components. However the purpose of a toy hauler is a bit more defined as hauling toys and doubling as living space when toy hauler owners are playing at an event. Toy haulers usually include some kind of living space. Toy hauler trailers also include a garage space of some kind for the transport of the toys. Toy hauler trailers sometimes mix the two of these items into one so that they use the space inside the trailer more efficiently. Toy haulers come in all shapes and sizes. Toy hauler trailers can be large or small and can be a full living quarter or just a bathroom/kitchen with a garage. ATC living quarter trailers are equipped to carry much larger loads than most travel trailer or RV based toy hauler trailer. You very often can get a disappointing result when you spend much time and money on a toy hauler trailer. Toy hauler trailers can very greatly in both material quality and fit/finish. Because it’s a living space and not a typical trailer, toy hauler trailers to us, seem to be more crucial in these areas. Toy hauler trailers are made by many manufacturers and there for have a wide range of results. Toy hauler trailers at ATC get more time and attention than most manufacturers give them. We feel that toy hauler trailers are very important to our business.
Living Quarter Trailers
Wednesday, August 25th, 2010Living quarter trailers take some unique capabilities to build the right way. Here at ATC I wouldn’t say that we specialize in living quarter trailers but we do a good job in building them. Our living quarter trailers don’t really compare to an RV or Travel trailer in either price or design. Our living quarter trailers usually are highly customized and serve multiple purposes. Our living quarter trailers can be added to most of our models to make a very unique product that meets a living quarter trailer customers needs. Living quarter trailers can be slapped together in a way that gives the appearance of a finished livable unit but then have nothing beneath the surface that will satisfy the customer over the long haul. We have our own custom wood cabinet shop where we make high quality cabinets for our living quarter trailers. Our living quarter trailers also can be outfitted with aluminum racing cabinets in place of wood as well. Living quarter trailers also take a special kind of worker that can do finish work as well as being efficient on time. To fit all of the things required by a place that you expect to live in into a small space afforded by a living quarter trailer is very difficult. Living quarter trailers become even more difficult to build when they are customized. We have been building living quarter trailers for about 5 years now and have done pretty well.
Mobile Office Trailers
Friday, August 6th, 2010Mobile office trailers are a specialized product that many companies build exclusively. Mobile office trailers are usually built very cheaply for construction sites or mechanical contracting sites. They are constructed to be parked in one place for a very long time and there fore the running gear of most mobile office trailers built by these companies are not made to withstand many miles on the road. Mobile office trailers that ATC builds are a bit more expensive but are built to last longer and perform better on the road. At times there are mobile office trailers that are treated as a throw away product that will only last a few years and then need to be replaced. The hassle of buying a new mobile office is difficult and the longer one lasts and meets the mobile office customer’s needs. Sometimes mobile office trailers require multiple talents to do well at. We have to have a wide variety of strengths to build well. We need to be able build a product for the mobile office customer that lasts and performs well in a variety of climates and harsh environments. Longevity is also important with mobile office trailers.
Commercial Trailers
Thursday, August 5th, 2010Commercial Trailers are a large part of what we do here at ATC. We tend to do things that commercial trailer customers want. Commercial trailer buyers tend to be more concerned with performance than with price. They want their commercial trailer to perform in the field to their expectations no matter what the surrounding circumstances are. Many people that buy commercial trailers depend on that trailer for their livelihoods. If the commercial trailer has a problem in the field or does not do what the end user wants it to do, then the whole commercial trailer becomes a wasted product. Commercial trailer buyers also want a product that will last longer than a typical cheaper cargo style trailer. When you calculate the monthly cost of a seemingly expensive commercial trailer, the price becomes less of an issue when that commercial trailer lasts 10 years. Commercial trailers are a very important part of our business and we make sure that our commercial customers are satisfied with all of the projects that we do here at ATC.

Good Things On The Horizon From ATC and Motiv Trailers
Monday, July 26th, 2010All great companies must continuously strive to reinvent their products in order to create more value and curb appeal. I’m proud to say that ATC/Motiv Trailers is a company that has never been satisfied with the status quo. Over the past 11 years in business we have been constantly searching for ways to improve our trailers. Yes, we have a great trailer, but there is always room for improvement. For the past year we have been locking ourselves in the office late hours, drinking lots of coffee and coming up with a host of fresh new ideas for our trailers.
I proud to announce that we are about ready to open the doors and introduce some great new things. Our first unveiling will be in September at the NATDA (North American Trailer Dealer Association) dealer show in Louisville, Kentucky. Our public unveiling will be at the PRI (Performance Racing Industry) show in Orlando, Florida in early December. We have a bag full of tricks and we cannot wait to share our ideas with our customers.
Stay tuned for more great stuff from ATC and Motiv. Don’t get too excited though, because we’ll probably top this again next year!
Motorcycle Trailers
Friday, July 23rd, 2010Pack your bags, and load your hogs… its time for a road trip. Chance are if you are going to Daytona or Sturgis you will be in good company with your ATC or Motiv motorcycle trailer. I’m always pleasantly surprised at how many ATC and Motiv motorcycle trailers I see at the national rallies. I guess what they say is true, motorcycle guys and gals really do appreciate and recognize precision craftsmanship.
Yeah, there certainly are manufactures out there that sell motorcycle trailers for less, but many of them dip well below the acceptable threshold of quality. I’m all for a good price, but some of these trailers are bordering on ridiculous. The key to ATC and Motiv success in the motorcycle trailer market is focusing on value.
We proudly provide more value than any other manufacturer due to our quality of design, unmatched craftsmanship and our warranty program. Give us a try and we’ll be happy to make you a believer in ATC and Motiv motorcycle trailers!
Gooseneck Trailers
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010The next time you are at the race track, or for that matter just driving down the road, check out the number of trailers you see. Then check out the number of gooseneck style versus tag trailers. Goosenecks trailers will probably out number the tag models two to one. There are a number of reasons you see so many goosenecks. Let me tell you about a few.
If you are looking for the best and easiest way to trailer your cargo you want to make sure you checkout a gooseneck trailer. Gooseneck trailers provide the maximum in payload capacity as well as providing a great ride down the road. The design of the “gooseneck” allows for more weight to be transferred to the tow vehicle. The terms gooseneck refers to the part of the trailer that essentially sits on top of the pick up truck or tow vehicle. With this design the front of the gooseneck trailer rides farther forward on the truck and allows more of the weight to be transferred to both axles on the tow vehicle.
This additional weight transfer can be very beneficial. With the gooseneck design approximately 20 percent of the trailer weight is transferred to the tow vehicle. When you compare this to 10 percent on a “tag “ trailer, the weight transfer can become rather substantial, allowing you to haul more payload.
Because more of the weight is transferred to the tow vehicle with a gooseneck the drivability of the truck and trailer combination becomes much easier. Simple put, you don’t have all of the trailer weight riding on the very end of your tow vehicle hitch. In some cases tag trailers can tow poorly. With the weight resting over the axles of the truck, towing a gooseneck trailer is much smoother
Utility Trailers
Monday, July 19th, 2010Utility trailers. They have all sorts of uses and you see them everywhere. You see utility trailers at the ballpark, you see them in the neighborhood maintaining lawns, and you might even see them at your church. Face it, we need utility trailers.

Race Car Haulers
Wednesday, July 14th, 2010Sometimes our prospective new dealers ask us about the best ways to sell our aluminum race car haulers. We have found out that just throwing a billboard up at the local race track or taking out a shiny new ad in next weeks motorsports periodical just may not be the best way to reach our customer. The best way to get race car hauler sales for Motiv or ATC Trailers is to take our trailers out to the track and show people.
Yeah magazine ads looks good and billboards catch a lot of eyes, but what helps ATC / Motiv Trailers win is showing customers face-to-face why our trailers are better. Our fit-and-finish is second to none, our full perimeter tube frame cannot be beat, and how about a true and fair warranty that we actually pay in less than 30 days (try getting that from the other guys out there).
ATC and Motiv Race car haulers aren’t just better, we are competitively priced too. I’m not going to say that our price isn’t important, but no where in our sales pitch is price our primary selling point. Our race car haulers sell because they are the best ones out there… any yes we are competitively priced.
Go to our dealer locater or check us out at the track next weekend and you’ll see why seeing is believing!
