Commercial Trailers are a large part of what we do here at ATC. We tend to do things that commercial trailer customers want. Commercial trailer buyers tend to be more concerned with performance than with price. They want their commercial trailer to perform in the field to their expectations no matter what the surrounding circumstances are. Many people that buy commercial trailers depend on that trailer for their livelihoods. If the commercial trailer has a problem in the field or does not do what the end user wants it to do, then the whole commercial trailer becomes a wasted product. Commercial trailer buyers also want a product that will last longer than a typical cheaper cargo style trailer. When you calculate the monthly cost of a seemingly expensive commercial trailer, the price becomes less of an issue when that commercial trailer lasts 10 years. Tuesday, July 6th, 2010There are so many applications for mobile power trailers. ATC has designed and built what we call the mobile air, power, and light trailer. The fire industry needs a way to provide light, air, and power to the disaster scene. Our air, power and light trailers come with a powers 20 Kw diesel generator. This allows enough power to light up the scene and run air equipment that is used to fill the tanks for the fire breathing apparatus. Our air trailer is compact enough to be pulled with a ¾ ton truck but also provides enough room for the bottles to be easily filled from the inside of standing outside of the trailer. It helps us insure the job is done correct without having to worry about tough environment on the outside of the mobile power trailer. ATC is about to build a beautiful air power and light trailer that also provides a rehabilitation area for the fireman to recharge during deployment. Mobile Power Trailers
Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010The trailer industry is evolving. Fifty years ago it was mainly cargo and concession style trailers and there weren’t a whole of lot of options for folks to choose from. In the last twenty years, car haulers, gooseneck and the like have gained popularity. There are also many more choices for people to go when they are looking for a trailer company. That list narrows however, when someone is looking for a specific, custom application use for a trailer such as for a mobile power source. This is a trailer which needs extra engineering, quality control and production know how to produce.
The Aluminum Trailer Company has partnered with several national companies to do various projects in the mobile power trailer arena. One outfit that ATC has worked frequently with deals directly with the National Guard on various projects. One such project was a mobile power and communications trailer. The specific project called for trailers which would be up fitted with satellite and generator power sources. The trailers would then be mobilized in the event of a natural disaster when communication and power sources were down. The trailer could be used to organize critical relief response to the disaster.

Specialty Trailers
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010There are literally thousands of applications for the trailers that we build. It constantly amazes me the uses and applications that people come to us with for our specialty trailers. This comes with the territory when you are known in the industry as the premier manufacturer of custom and specialty trailers.
There are way too many to chose from, but one of my favorite specialty trailer applications that we have done a fair amount of are wine bottling trailers. In this specialty application, a company will come to us and in tandem with our engineering team, design from the ground up a trailer which will be loaded with wine bottling equipment. Once all the equipment is installed the trailer will go to different vineyards to set up shop and viola, you have an instant mobile wine operation. This helps the small farmers who may not want to invest in their own equipment in a permanent building. This is costly and not the most efficient. If they hire the specialty trailer with the equipment installed, they only pay for what they use. This is a win both for the smaller farmer and for the operators of the mobile specialty trailer.

Mobile Lab
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010Mobile labs have become a way of business. ATC recently completed this mobile lab that served three functions in one trailer. At the rear it was processing area for animals. This area in the mobile lab was also set up to transitioned into a storage area for equipment in transit.
The 2nd section in the mobile lab was the refrigerated lab area.
The third was just a bunk area so the technicians could catch some shut eye between jobs. ATC will help you design and build your mobile lab from the ground up. Please check out the custom area on web site to get some more ideas.
DAV at EAA Oshkosh 2008

The Disabled American Veterans Aviation Public Outreach Program was at this year’s EAA AirVenture Oshkosh along with our own Dale Davis. Dale is our Corporate Solutions Director here at ATC and was a key player in the creation of AirSupport’s DAV display trailer. According to Dale, thousands of EAA guests stopped by to get a close-up look at the B-25 airplane and the DAV display that featured videos and information about DAV. “It’s always great to see one of our trailers in use, but being here and seeing the display reach so many people really makes my job enjoyable” says Dale.
