ATC just completed another spectacular Fire trailer. This air trailer included everything you need for refilling your breathing air tanks in a remote scenario. The back half of the trailer was fitted with filling station and containment unit, DOT bottles and storage for the scba bottles. In the front of the breathing air and rehab trailer was everything the firemen will need to rest and be revitalized. It also works as a mini’ command center. The rehab area has plenty of seating, bathroom, heat and air conditioning to recharge the crew during the long mission. Commercial Trailers are a large part of what we do here at ATC. We tend to do things that commercial trailer customers want. Commercial trailer buyers tend to be more concerned with performance than with price. They want their commercial trailer to perform in the field to their expectations no matter what the surrounding circumstances are. Many people that buy commercial trailers depend on that trailer for their livelihoods. The trailer industry is evolving. Fifty years ago it was mainly cargo and concession style trailers and there weren’t a whole of lot of options for folks to choose from. I guess that really either could be considered a mobile office. However, the one seems a little undermanned and the other a little too permanent. Have you ever wondered if what you read in the newspapers or see on television is true or accurate? Especially if it is an advertisement or a commercial, you have to wonder!
Well my wife and I were watching television a few weeks ago and a commercial came on for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Alliance. All I can figure out is that it must be an umbrella group or an industry trade association putting out their message. The spokeswoman was talking about all the great things that do for America’s energy independence, and how reliable it is (this was before the gas rig accident in the Gulf of Mexico). Then she mentioned how this industry creates 9 million jobs for America because of their efforts.
Now my wife being somewhat skeptical to begin with said, “well that’s a little hard to believe”. Of course I’m used to arguing with her, and I immediately said the spokeswoman was probably right. You see I work building all kinds of trailers (find us at www.aluminumtrailer.com) and it just so happens that we build specialty trailers.
In this case we build specialty trailers for you guessed it the Gas industry.
We have built specialty trailers for oil well drilling, for soil sampling, for the work crews, for surveying, etc. We have built specialty trailers for at least eight different companies that I am sure are part of that organization. We are really thankful right now at ATC and Motiv, because over the past months our business has really picked up. It’s a great change from the past year or two when economic times were so tough. One area of our business in particular has been extremely busy: our commercial trailer product line seems to be growing every day, which is so exciting for us.
ATC has always been an industry leader in the commercial trailer field. We pride ourselves on our ability to design and build literally anything our customers can imagine. In the past few years we have taken our steel trailer product, the Motiv line, and adapted that to make a superb commercial trailer platform – especially for the customer who has a tighter budget. One example of a totally unique trailer series we built were our remote fish tagging trailers. Over the years we have done our fair share of command center trailers. Command center trailers can be used for many different things. We have customers that have used command centers for training purposes as well as safety training for staff of fire and police departments. We are currently doing one of our largest and most expensive command centers to date. This particular command center is for the Louisiana Parish Sherriff’s office. During certain times of the year it will no doubt be tested in use. Our command centers come completely finished from major power generators to full communication capabilities. We do it all.  Weatherford International Oil Services just received their first commercial trailer from the Aluminum Trailer Company. Weatherford contacted ATC when they had noticed the commercial trailers on our website http://www.aluminumtrailer.com/custom trailers/field service . They needed a rugged commercial trailer that could be used as an office in just about any environment. With the numerous commercial trailer pictures on the ATC website they were able to pick a design that worked for them and get their trailers extremely fast. After narrowing down the options and determining the floor plan of their commercial trailer they decided on an affordable solution. Pictured is a similar unit to what Weatherford purchased.
 I personally had the opportunity to take Weatherford their first commercial trailer. These particular units will be working in the beautiful state of Wyoming. As you may or may not know the temperatures can be very cold in Wyoming so these commercial trailers were designed with an exceptional insulation package. The crews will be able to be comfortable in the extreme cold temperatures they called upon to work in.  If you have found this blog, most likely you typed in the key word: specialty trailer or specialty trailers. There are many different manufacturers that claim that they do custom trailers, but sometimes there are projects that we come across that are more than just a custom trailer, they are truly unique builds; they are specialty trailers. When it comes to building a specialty trailer you have to change the rules completely. At ATC and Motiv Trailers we realize that commercial trailers can be some of the most challenging projects. A commercial trailer will need to have several things; a unique layout with sometimes very tight tolerances, a high level of quality, and multiple units need to be produced as identically as possible. Our procedures are smooth, simple, and easy to duplicate. We start by getting a clear direction for the project by getting a list of the specifications or requirements for the project.
