Trailer Manufacturer

Monday, June 28th, 2010

If you have done any sort of research on line, you have quickly come to the conclusion that there are many, many choices for you when it comes to choosing a trailer manufacturer to build exactly what you are looking for. We want to make this as easy as possible for you. Chose the Aluminum Trailer Company and Motiv Trailers to be your trailer manufacturer of choice.

We certainly are not the biggest trailer manufacture out there. Nor are we the oldest or the most recognizable trailer manufacturer. What we are is a solid company, who consistently puts out some of the best product that is on the market today. Our company was started a little over ten years ago by a guy who had a vision for aluminum trailers. In an industry where the common practice was to manufacture trailers out of steel, our company was started with the premise that aluminum was the way to go. We have since added a steel line, but we have continued to be on the cutting edge of aluminum trailer manufacturing. Whether you need a standard cargo, motorcycle or car hauler; or you need a highly customized stacker or other specialty trailer, we are the trailer manufacturer for you.

Visit our website at www.aluminumtrailer.com to see what we have to offer. We have wonderful pictures of not only our standard trailers, but also our custom trailers which really show off what our manufacturing capabilities are. We have a dealer locater conveniently included, so you have the option of contacting a dealer directly or call into the office at 877-441-2440 and we would be happy to point you in the right direction.

Trailer Dealers

Friday, June 25th, 2010

There is quite a bit that goes into the making and selling of a premier trailer. You have to have good relationships with vendors so they deliver parts and material on time. You have to have a good team of engineers so that you know the trailer is designed properly and will hold up for whatever application or purpose it was designed for. You have to have a good production work force who can take the concepts designed by engineering and make it into reality. But you can’t do any of this stuff unless you have an outstanding dealer body.

As one of our production workers likes to say, “you can’t build a quote”. You have to close the deal in order to build anything. For that we rely on our outstanding network of trailer dealers. Sure we have an in house sales staff. And they are critical for what we do, but it is our dealers who are working directly with the end customer. It is the dealer who bring us the trailer order so that we can build it. It is our dealer who then delivers our product back to the end retail customer. It is our dealer who steps up for any service, warranty or other issues that come up after the sale has been completed. Aluminum Trailer Company and Motiv Trailers take great pride in the relationship we have with our dealers. We have to communicate effectively and be on the same page or it is ultimately the end customer who loses out. We stand behind our dealers. It is our goal and desire to give them all the support they need in order to make the sale as smooth as possible for you, the end customer. Visit our website at www.aluminumtrailer.com and utilize our dealer locator feature to find your nearest dealer. Or call us at 877-441-2440 and we would be happy to refer you to your nearest dealer.

Motorcycle Trailers

There are not many things which are more American then hitting the open road on your motorcycle. Whether you are letting the wind whip through your hair or you are driving in a state which requires that you wear a helmet, the motorcycle is the stuff of American leisure and legend. Unfortunately for you motorcycling enthusiasts out there, it is not always possible to ride your motorcycle to where you want to go. Sometimes you have to haul your motorcycle to its destination and for that you need a motorcycle trailer.

The Aluminum Trailer Company and Motiv Trailer offer a wide range of enclosed steel and aluminum motorcycle trailers. You can start simply with our standard MSX or SS trailer with a couple of tweaks to fit your motorcycle trailer needs. Or you can put a little more oomph in your motorcycle trailer and go with our GTX or GTS packages which give you a wide variety of additional options to make your motorcycle trailer the envy of your cyclist buddies. If you can’t roll into Sturgis bike week on your motorcycle, the next best thing is rolling in hauling your motorcycles in an Aluminum Trailer Company or Motiv Trailers built motorcycle trailer.

Visit our website at www.aluminumtrailer.com for a wide range of photos and other information which will help you in your search for the perfect motorcycle trailer. You will also find a dealer locator and other ways to contact us directly so there are plenty of ways to get the information that you need.

Mobile Power Trailers

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

The trailer industry is evolving. Fifty years ago it was mainly cargo and concession style trailers and there weren’t a whole of lot of options for folks to choose from. In the last twenty years, car haulers, gooseneck and the like have gained popularity. There are also many more choices for people to go when they are looking for a trailer company. That list narrows however, when someone is looking for a specific, custom application use for a trailer such as for a mobile power source. This is a trailer which needs extra engineering, quality control and production know how to produce.

The Aluminum Trailer Company has partnered with several national companies to do various projects in the mobile power trailer arena. One outfit that ATC has worked frequently with deals directly with the National Guard on various projects. One such project was a mobile power and communications trailer. The specific project called for trailers which would be up fitted with satellite and generator power sources. The trailers would then be mobilized in the event of a natural disaster when communication and power sources were down. The trailer could be used to organize critical relief response to the disaster.

If you are working with a government entity or with a private organization and have a need for a mobile power source then the Aluminum Trailer Company can help design and build what you are looking for. Visit us at www.aluminumtrailer.com for a wide range of examples of not just mobile power trailers, but also communication, command center and other types as well.

Specialty Trailers

Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010

There are literally thousands of applications for the trailers that we build. It constantly amazes me the uses and applications that people come to us with for our specialty trailers. This comes with the territory when you are known in the industry as the premier manufacturer of custom and specialty trailers.

There are way too many to chose from, but one of my favorite specialty trailer applications that we have done a fair amount of are wine bottling trailers. In this specialty application, a company will come to us and in tandem with our engineering team, design from the ground up a trailer which will be loaded with wine bottling equipment. Once all the equipment is installed the trailer will go to different vineyards to set up shop and viola, you have an instant mobile wine operation. This helps the small farmers who may not want to invest in their own equipment in a permanent building. This is costly and not the most efficient. If they hire the specialty trailer with the equipment installed, they only pay for what they use. This is a win both for the smaller farmer and for the operators of the mobile specialty trailer.

The above example is but one of hundreds of specialty trailers that we have manufactured at the Aluminum Trailer Company. Visit our website at www.aluminumtrailer.com to see thousands of pictures in our robust photo gallery. Maybe we have already done something you are considering. If we have not, there is a great chance that we can help you dial in and figure out exactly what you want.

Enclosed Trailers

When I first got into the trailer business, I really didn’t know much about enclosed trailers.  As the years have passed, I have learned a tremendous amount about enclosed trailers from our customers.  I’ve learned what is important and what is the fluffy, foo-foo stuff that doesn’t really provide any value.

I remember my first trip down to Daytona for the race show before the 500.  I sat down with racer after racer and learned that a quality design and good fit-and-finish just cannot be beat.  There is no shortage of trailer manufacturers out there just pumping out the same old stuff with lackluster quality.  We have built our enclosed trailers around a different customer.  Our customers recognize precision craftsmanship and quality of design.

By steering out business this direction and taking the upper road, yeah, we miss out on some of the massive amounts of cheap trailers that are sold, but we can sleep well at night knowing that we build the best stuff out there.  Our customers recognize this and continue coming back.

Check us out at the race track next time or just click onto our website, I’m confident you’ll learn a lot about the little things that make ATC/Motiv beat to a different drum.  Happy Trailering!

Mobile Office Trailer

Thursday, June 17th, 2010

What would you consider a mobile office?  Those trailers you see on construction sites that are only temporary.  The kind that look like stripped down mobile homes?  What if a guy with a Blackberry conducts all his business at the local Starbucks while using their signal? Is that his office?

I guess that really either could be considered a mobile office.  However, the one seems a little undermanned and the other a little too permanent.  If you are looking for a truly mobile office you need a mobile office trailer.  That’s where I can help. I build trailers for ATC (www.aluminumtrailer.com) and among all the trailers that we build are mobile office trailers.  Why a trailer?  Well really it’s the wheels!  You can’t get any more mobile than that.

Whether it’s an office for fire control, construction site, service business you are truly mobile with wheels under your office.  We have built mobile office trailers for all of those and many more.  It’s exactly what you need.   And did I mention you can still have your Blackberry and Starbucks.  Happy Trailering!

Enclosed Trailers

Do you know what the difference is between inclose or enclose?   Or the variants of those inclosed or enclosed?   Well as it turns out there isn’t any difference they both mean the same thing. However the preferred spelling or usage just happens to be “enclosed”.   Now that may not mean much to most people but I just happen to be in the business of making enclosed trailers, and since we advertise we really do try to get things like spelling and grammatical nuances correct.  I don’t know how much longer that will actually be important in the age of texting and twitter it seems that you can just make things up as you go along.

Let’s get back to that enclosed trailers thing for a moment.  Of course you were wondering what that means?   Well weren’t you?   An enclosure structurally is like a fence around property or more specifically like a porch on your house, but now you put glass around it.   Voila! You now have an enclosed room that used to be an open to the weather porch.  That may not mean much to some people, but try reading the Sunday morning paper on your porch in Indiana in January.  You would immediately understand why enclosing it with glass makes a lot of sense.   If I built enclosed porches, I would continue down this path but I don’t so I won’t.

I make enclosed trailers (www.aluminumtrailer.com) and I was just trying to get my point across in a way most people would understand.  You can buy many types of trailers and many of them are open like your front porch, and they work very well for some things, but if you want things dry and not exposed to the elements of the weather you need an enclosed trailer.  What kind of enclosed trailer? Well I could tell you now but that would spoil my fun.  LOL (that’s one of those texting things I was talking about).  Maybe next time we can talk about the different kinds of enclosed trailers, until then Happy Trailering!

Specialty Trailers

Have you ever wondered if what you read in the newspapers or see on television is true or accurate? Especially if it is an advertisement or a commercial, you have to wonder!

Well my wife and I were watching television a few weeks ago and a commercial came on for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Alliance.   All I can figure out is that it must be an umbrella group or an industry trade association putting out their message.   The spokeswoman was talking about all the great things that do for America’s energy independence, and how reliable it is (this was before the gas rig accident in the Gulf of Mexico). Then she mentioned how this industry creates 9 million jobs for America because of their efforts.

Now my wife being somewhat skeptical to begin with said, “well that’s a little hard to believe”.   Of course I’m used to arguing with her, and I immediately said the spokeswoman was probably right. You see I work building all kinds of trailers (find us at www.aluminumtrailer.com) and it just so happens that we build specialty trailers.

In this case we build specialty trailers for you guessed it the Gas industry.

We have built specialty trailers for oil well drilling, for soil sampling, for the work crews, for surveying, etc.  We have built specialty trailers for at least eight different companies that I am sure are part of that organization. I can say for a fact they do create jobs for America, and I am thankful that one of them is mine.   So the next time you read or see something making a claim.  It just might true.  Happy Trailering!

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

If you are looking for a commercial trailer then by golly you have to check out ATC and Motiv!  Commercial trailers and ATC go hand in hand.  No matter what your commercial trailer needs might be, ATC is up to the task.

10 years of manufacturing experience and thousands of commercial trailers have given ATC the experience to be a leader in the commercial trailer field.  The designs may vary, but one thing remains the same, ATC can design and build the exact trailer to meet your commercial needs.

Commercial trailer buyers are tough, educated and very picky.  They know what they need and expect their suppliers to fill those needs and make the buying process easy as possible.  ATC commercial trailer division makes buying a trailer as easy as 1,2,3.  1- Call ATC and speak to the commercial trailer sales department.  They will ask the appropriate questions to help our engineering department design your commercial trailer. 2- ATC engineering will lay out your design on a 3D CAD design.  3- Our production department builds your commercial trailer to your exact specifications.

It sounds easy and it is.  Years of experience make it easy.  Good people make it easy.  Computer Aided Design (CAD) makes it easy.  Commercial trailers are what we do at ATC.

From the initial idea to the final product, we are proud and experienced at delivering the end product that will exceed your expectations.  ATC and commercial trailers go together like ice cream and cake.

Enclosed Trailers

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Enclosed trailers are a great way to keep all of your “stuff” safe and clean.  These days’ people have more and more “stuff”.  Leaving your stuff out in the elements just doesn’t make sense.  People can see your ‘stuff” if it is sitting out in the open or even on an open trailer.  People are mote likely to steal your stuff if they see it.  Put your stuff in an enclosed trailer and people can’t see it.  The weather can’t harm your stuff in an enclosed trailer.   Keeping all of your “stuff” in an enclosed trailer makes perfect sense.

An enclosed trailer is just like having a portable garage.  Your garage holds your tools, lawn mower, car, four wheeler, motorcycle and bicycle.  Your enclosed trailer can do exactly the same thing except, you can take it wherever you go. If you go on vacation or move, an enclosed trailer is a great way to transport all of the “stuff” you might need.

ATC and Motiv have been building enclosed trailers for over 10 years.  We have designed enclosed trailers that simply move your lawn mower from your garage to the repair shop and we have built enclosed trailers that have a full living area and room for 3 cars.  You name it and we can probably design an enclosed trailer to move whatever “stuff” you might want to move.

Enclosed trailers from 8’ long to 53’ long.  Inside heights from 6’ to 11’4”.  13 different colors.  Thousands of options!  At ATC/Motiv, enclosed trailers are what we do.

Cargo Trailers

Monday, June 7th, 2010

Cargo trailers are everywhere.  On your next drive to work or to the grocery store take a look and count how many you see.  My guess is you will be amazed at your final count.  Cargo trailers can be used for almost any business you can imagine.

Over the last 15 years the number cargo trailers manufactured has more than doubled.  At first glance all of these trailers look the same.  You might see a few different colors and some variations in height, but mostly, one trailer looks just like another.

Not so fast my friend!  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Unlike men, all cargo trailers are not created equally.  Certain trailers rise to the top and stand alone as the best cargo trailers on the market.  ATC and Motiv are two of those brands that separate from the pack and lead in quality and value.

ATC and Motiv cargo trailer are designed from the ground up to be the best cargo trailers on the market.  Attention to detail, all tube construction, LED clearance lights are just a few of the things that separate the men from the boys.  And ATC and Motiv cargo trailers are the best value on the market.

Cargo trailers are not created equal.  ATC and Motiv have set the quality and value bar high.  Take a close look at the options you have when buying a cargo trailer and I think you will agree that the cream of the crop is ATC and Motiv cargo trailers

Mobile Office Trailer

Friday, June 4th, 2010

Most of us have an office.  How about a mobile office trailer?  If you need a mobile office ATC/Motiv is here to help.   Whether it’s the all aluminum ATC trailer or the steel framed aluminum skinned Motiv trailer, we have mobile office trailers to meet almost every need.

Our designs for mobile office trailers depend on your need.  It may seem crazy but ATC has built mobile office trailers as plain as your standard jobsite office trailer to a mobile air support tower complete with an enclosed air traffic observation tower.  Other projects have included mobile office laboratories for testing soil and rock for oil drilling.

No matter how different a mobile office trailer might be, they all have one thing in common, the quality design and workmanship that goes into every ATC/Motiv trailer.

Our design starts with your idea.  ATC/Motiv can work with customers to develop a floor plan for a mobile office trailer that will meet your specifications.

Applications for mobile office trailers vary, so do the items that make up mobile office trailers.  We have a complete array of flooring, cabinetry, electrical and other interior options to choose from.  You name it and we can probably work with you to design it.

Check us out on the web at www.aluminumtrailer.com.  It is a great place to see some of our previous designs.

Custom Trailers

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

If you are looking for a custom trailer ATC/Motiv is the place to go.  Seriously, custom trailers are what we do.  From 8’ to 53’, you name it and ATC/Motiv can do it.  If you have the idea, we can build a trailer for you.

We have been building custom trailer for ten years.  And when I say custom I mean custom.  Companies, individuals and governments from all over the country have made ATC/Motiv the name in enclosed and open custom trailers.

ATC/Motiv customizes car trailers.  We can take your idea of a perfect car hauler from your ideas and transform it to the trailer of your dreams.  Cabinets, lights and electrical outlets, floor covering and finished walls and ceiling.  We specialize in building the most completely customized trailer you can find.

Custom trailers for you business?  You bet!  ATC can help you sell more product, see more customers, and draw more people to your business.  Our sales, engineering, and production departments help bring your idea of a custom trailer to life. We have designed mobile showrooms, mobile game trailers, mobile offices, and mobile control centers.  Our customer designs include everything you need to help your business perform better and allow you to make more profits.

At ATC/Motiv we have done it all.  We build Custom trailer for racers, custom trailers for business, and custom trailer for our government.   Agencies from counties and states all the way to our federal government have contracted with ATC/Motiv to custom design a trailer that will fit their need exactly.

Snowmobile Trailers

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

“I guess we are no more than a piss in the snow to you, hey”. Those words were first spoken almost 20 years ago by one of my favorite people and for sure one of our most interesting dealers. Me, I build trailers. I know what you’re thinking. What kind of dead end job is that! Well you know the cliché “until you walk in another man’s shoes”. Anyway, back to the yellow snow. I was doing a dealer delivery of a snowmobile trailer to a new dealer from Canada and he wanted to share some ideas he had, and well that’s when he delivered the above line. He also said something about being just a dumb Canuck, which by the way I am pretty certain is some sort of racist slur.

Well as I’ve said there have been many snowmobile trailers purchased by that dealer in the last 20 years, and we both have many other memories both good and bad in our friendship. That line however will forever define our relationship.

He is obviously much more “than just a piss in the snow”, and building trailers is more than just a job for me. If you’d like to find out about some really neat snowmobile trailers check out www.aluminumtrailer.com

By the way that’s where you will find me much of the time, I’m the guy walking in my own shoes. They just happen to help me build trailers.

Gooseneck Trailers

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Did you ever wonder how some things got their names? No, I’m not talking about etymology. Although I’m sure in some sense that is in fact how things like that come about. Anyway the name I’m talking about is gooseneck trailers. You see I build trailers, and for the one or two people that have read something from me before that’s what I do on my day job. The rest of the time I try to figure out what things mean and how they came about. Occasionally my day job and my real life intersect. And well why do we call something a gooseneck trailer?

Well you know when it gets right down to it most of us (people that is) are really pretty simple and we like things that way. Therefore if you think about it we generally stick to things we already know. In this case most of us have seen a goose and are familiar with how it looks. I’m not certain about this next part but I’ pretty sure that geese were around before trailers. So humor me here and try to visualize a goose the squat body and extended neck. Now think about building something like that, in this case a trailer. A squat body and in front a lone neck, voila a gooseneck trailer.

This is not the only part of a trailer that is named after something simple. Next time we’ll talk about hat posts, again visualize a hat…. Well you know what comes next. By the way as always if you’re interested in looking at a gooseneck trailer please check out our web site www.aluminumtrailer.com

That’s were I’m constantly struggling to figure what is my day job and what is my real life anyway. But that’s for a different day, meanwhile think about that hat!

Motorcycle Trailers

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Doesn’t it strike you as odd that we sometimes use one type of vehicle to transport another kind of vehicle? Not that I’m complaining, it’s one of the trailers that we manufacture where I work and it does put food on my table. Not quite following me? I’m talking about motorcycle trailers. You see, obviously you ride a motorcycle and I’m sure it can take you quite far. There was once a famous movie about a motorcycle trip. It was Easy Rider, and for those of you who have never heard of it, it’s a pity that you have not. Anyway back to my point. You can also drive a truck, and I’m sure depending on the weather it’s probably more comfortable. Therefore, why is it that some motorcycle riders need a truck and motorcycle trailer to get to where they want to then ride the motorcycle?

Ok. I am going to give the readers that are a little slow on the comprehension some time to think about that. Ok. Time’s up. Go back and reread the first paragraph. It’s all about the comfort. If the guys in Easy Rider where alive (Hint: they are and they are some pretty famous actors) they would be in their sixties. Now I’m not saying there aren’t some old bikers out there who couldn’t ride cross country and are still tough as nails, but really why would you want too.

You get a great motorcycle trailer from ATC that’s www.aluminumtrailer.com you put your hog it. You drive the first 1,000 miles to Sturgis in the comfort of your truck, your $ 30,000 baby is safe in the trailer. You stop about 100 miles away, rub some dirt and grease on your face and in your hair, and you drive the rest of the way on your bike. I mean who’s going to know, unless you tell them. Then again, maybe you want to brag about your trailer too. I’m just saying. And by way, it will put food on my table. Let me know if I could help you out. Happy Biking!

Cargo Trailers

Friday, May 28th, 2010

Whenever people ask me what I do for my job I always answer that I build cargo trailers. That of course leads to the inevitable question. What kind of cargo, what do mean by cargo trailer? Do you mean like U Haul? The answer is always a qualified yes, just like a U Haul but different. We at ATC (www.aluminumtrailer.com) build all kinds of trailers for a lot of different companies and a lot of different applications. However when it gets right down to it you need a cargo trailer to haul stuff. Trust me it’s the easiest and safest way to get your stuff where you want it to be.

A number of years ago (working at a different company not to be named here) I would routinely deliver trailers to our dealers on the east coast. The reason was pretty simple. They got a trailer delivered without having to pay the transportation cost, and I got to visit my family. A real quid pro quo! Now normally it was just an empty cargo trailer that I would drop off at the dealer’s lot. Then I would visit with the dealer and review some business items, and then next day as I said I would visit my family.

One particular trip however proved to be quite a challenge. You see my oldest daughter had graduated from college, and decided to permanently relocate to Brooklyn, New York. For those of you who don’t know that’s one of the five boroughs that make up the city of New York. Therefore, I was now going to load and move all her stuff. Did I mention earlier that cargo trailers are all about hauling stuff? Anyway here was the dilemma. Load all her things bed, furniture, clothes, etc. in the cargo trailer. Drive into Brooklyn (not the most ideal city for a truck and trailer), unload the trailer, and then deliver it to the dealer with the inside and outside looking new.

Well the driving part was pretty easy, and by the way almost anyone would find hauling a cargo trailer relatively easy. It was when we arrived on her street that it initially looked daunting. You see they have this thing called alternate side of the street parking. What I think that means is that if you don’t find parking you have an alternative, just keep driving. A parking space for a twenty foot trailer and truck doesn’t just happen, but believe it or not there it was. The only problem now would be to actually parallel park the whole thing. With my daughters spotting for me, and a little luck I was able to do it. We unloaded her stuff, I spent the night, and I delivered the trailer to the dealer the next day.

As I said when you need to move whatever it is that needs moving consider a cargo trailer from ATC. That’s where I work building them, and I’ll throw in the driving lesson for free. Happy Moving!

Utility Trailers

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

Enclosed Trailers

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Worried about your precious cargo? That’s why an enclosed trailer is the perfect solution for you! Protect your belonging from harsh weather conditions and keep your expensive equipment safe behind locked doors and out of harms way. As an added benefit, enclosed trailers have less resistance to the wind so your gas will go further than with an open hauler.

Gooseneck Trailers

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

There are many things to consider when choosing the type of trailer that best fits you. Gooseneck trailers have many benefits thanks to their styling and size. Because of the way it is hitched, a Gooseneck trailer doesn’t sway or fishtail like bumper trailers tend to do, making your haul safer and more stable. The Gooseneck is also said to be easier to align while hitching it to your vehicle. The size allows you to store larger capacity’s and the top stowing area can also be used for living quarters on long trips or camping excursions.

ATC and Motiv is proud to offer a wide variety of Gooseneck trailers ranging from general storage up to complete living quarters available! Talk to one of our experienced and friendly representatives to get you fitted into your own custom Gooseneck Trailer today.

Race Trailer

Friday, May 21st, 2010

If you are in the market for a race trailer, congratulations, you have come to the right place.  ATC and Motiv have become know as market leaders in the race trailer business.  So you might ask, what really makes ATC and Motiv different from the countless other brands out there?  And the answer to that is “Everything”

No where in our sales pitch will you ever hear us taut that we are cheaper than the other guy.  We’re simply not the cheapest race trailer in the business, nor do we want to be.  If you’re looking for cheapest price you need to get yourself down to South Georgia and go shopping.  If you are looking for value and quality of ownership, that’s were ATC and Motiv come in.

We build our aluminum and steel race trailers on a full perimeter tube frame which provides commercial grade quality.  Our workmanship is second to none.  And let’s talk about warranty too.  We don’t have near the warranty issues as our competitors, due to our forward thinking engineering process, but once in a while we do make mistakes.  Not only do we pay our warranty claims, (which now days is becoming a rarity) but we offer industry-leading customer service though the process.  Try getting that out of South Georgia!

Remember that thing your dad told you when you were younger about the fact that you always get what you pay for…  Well that has never been truer.  At ATC and Motiv our prices are competitive and our product shines above the rest.  Please allow us to show you why ATC and Motiv have risen to the top of the race trailer market.

Crew Trailer

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

ATC recently built this first of three custom crew trailers. There are so many different and specific needs for crew trailers in the oil field that ATC is willing to work with customers to get them exactly what their crew needs in a budget they can afford. This particular crew trailer eliminated the need for two trailers to have to be taken to the sight. We combined a parts and tool area in the back with heavy duty diamond plate. This allowed whatever tools and supplies needed to be forked onto the back. In the front enclosed area of the crew trailer there is plenty of room for the crew to relax and recharge safely for break time. With AC and Heat to keep the crew trailer comfortable the crew will be able be ready for the next demanding job. ATC had built hundreds of oil field crew trailers and would love to discuss your company trailer needs at any time. Feel free to give me a call and I will be glad to assist you. Please take a look at the many styles of crew trailers we have already designed and built from the ground up.

Race Trailers

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

Wow, this was my first time at Limrock for a Porsche Club event with the fine folks from the CVR (Connecticut Valley Region).  I was able to sit back and catch up with many of our ATC customers and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Porsches screaming around the track.  And let me tell you, with the mufflers off, there really aren’t words to explain the sense of excitement that comes from hearing the Porsches let out a banshee-wail as they come out of the final corner heading onto the straight away.

Driving around the paddock was rewarding as I was able to catch up and thank many of our ATC and Motiv customers for choosing our trailers.  Let’s be honest Porsche guys are performance oriented folks that recognize quality and precision craftsmanship.  That is why it meant so much to me to see out trailers so well represented at this event.  I was proud that of the oodles and oodles of trailers out there, ATC and Motiv appeared to be the most represented brand.  I guess a lot of our hard work back at the factory is paying off.

And if I didn’t mention one of my favorite parts of attending Limerock, I just wouldn’t be doing this story justice.  Being handed the keys to my choice of Porsche and taking test laps was out-of-this-world exciting.  While I am still pretty green at racing, it was exhilarating to say the least, to be sitting behind the wheel of such and incredible race machine taking laps.  Thanks to Chip and all the other kind folks at Danbury Porsche for your hospitality.

To all the CVR members, thanks for your continued support of ATC and Motiv Trailers and keep the petal to the metal!  We’ll see you again next year at Limerock!

Utility Trailers

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Utility trailers come in all shapes and sizes.  There are many different thoughts about what utility trailers are.  Some would say that a utility trailer would be something that would be an open steel trailer with no sidewalls or roof.  Others would put small cargo trailers in the utility trailer category.  I’ve heard utility trailers being referred to as trailers that utility companies use to haul their supplies.  Utility trailers to me are trailers that are used to do work in a simple application.  When I hear utility trailer it usually means an open trailer with no walls or ceiling.  Usually made out of steel or aluminum.  Utility trailers would be on the smaller side.  Usually in the 5 x 8 to 7×14 range.  Utility trailers are something that we do build but they are not our main business.  We build larger custom trailers and only build enclosed utility trailers for our dealers.  Utility trailers usually are not finished out very well and they tend to be built by small regional manufacturers that build large volumes of standard products.  Utility trailers can also be rented from dealers many times as well.

Specialty Trailers

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Here at the Aluminum Trailer company we have been moving more in the direction of specialty trailers.  We do many styles of enclosed trailers but specialty trailers are where we really shine.  Specialty trailers require some strengths that cargo trailers don’t.  We have a full engineering staff of 5 that help both in drawing 3D models and prints for specialty trailers but also in figuring out how to do things that customers dream up.  Anyone can build a utility trailer effectively but there are very few manufacturers that can deliver a fully functioning specialty trailer that meets the customer’s expectations.  Specialty trailers are typically one of a kind.  A customer of a specialty trailer will dream something up from scratch or see something in the marketplace and bring us and idea.  We deliver the specialty trailer that meets or exceeds their needs.  Sometimes we build the designs from a fully detailed spec and other times we are lucky to get a napkin with some sketches on it.  Specialty trailers have become our bread and butter even though specialty trailer customers can be very demanding.
