Lab Trailer

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

It is not always convenient on a job site to work without having a lab on location.  Equally as often, there is not money available to have a lab at every job site where its services may be needed.  Whether your lab consists of data collection, testing equipment, computer processing or quality control; a mobile lab trailer can help ensure that the data that is collected is accurate and dependable.  So many different applications require the function of a lab, it just makes sense to have a lab trailer that can move as the job site moves.

When there is a crew of professional lab technicians, their effectiveness is multiplied tremendously when that crew is made mobile.  Moving specialized equipment quickly and easily can also make that equipment more functional for a variety of job sites if their service is not always needed on site.  Adding one mobile lab could save the time and expense of setting up a lab location at multiple sites.

ATC & Motiv trailers have the experience and production capabilities to build a specialized lab trailer for you that will fit your function as well as meet the specific requirements that are needed for your specific lab type.  Get in touch with us to find out more about how we can work with you to design a lab trailer for you!

In the market for an open car hauler trailer?

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

Let me suggest items you should look for in an Open Car Hauler Trailer.

The first question you need to answer is your preference for aluminum or steel.  Steel trailers will be less expensive than their aluminum counterpart, but weighs more and is susceptible to corrosion from road salt, grime, and the weather, whereas aluminum is corrosion resistant and will generally last longer and look better under the same conditions.

The next important question to answer is what are your weight requirements?  Do you have the right tow vehicle for the weight rating of the trailer?  What is the weight of the vehicle you will load on the trailer?  An 18′ open car hauler trailer can weigh anywhere from 1,200# to 2,000# depending on whether it is made of aluminum or steel, and options selected.  You are fine with tandem 3,500# axles if your vehicle and cargo weight less than 5,000#, but you may want to consider heavier axles to increase the carrying capacity of your trailer if your vehicle weighs more than 5,000# or if you are intending to haul other cargo with the vehicle that would exceed 5,000# in weight.

You will also want to know some specific measurements of your vehicle, ground clearance, wheel base, door clearance, overall length and width are all important to insure your car can be properly loaded and secured on your new open car hauler trailer.

Equipped with this information, you’re now ready to start looking at trailers.  There are many brands of open car hauler trailers available.  Different brands offer different specialties.  Look for the following: ramp dimensions, load ratings, and ramp storage; deck height, stabilizer jacks for loading, removable or permanently fastened fenders, radial tires or bias ply, LED or incandescent lighting.  All of these differ with brands and will have a significant impact on your experience with your open car hauler trailer.

Bathroom Trailers

Monday, April 20th, 2009

It’s one of those annoying facts of life – sooner or later, everyone has to answer the call of nature.  It’s especially irritating when you’re at the racetrack, or on a job site, where decent facilities aren’t always readily available.  And from a woman’s perspective, let me tell you, it can be REALLY tough to find an acceptable place to take care of business!  And don’t even get me started on the long lines you typically have to wait in.

That’s why ATC and Motiv Trailers offer a great variety of bathroom trailers to choose from!  You can have a clean, private place to use the restroom…right inside your trailer.  We have designed a number of awesome bathroom packages to fit anybody’s needs.  If you want to keep it simple, the S1 or S2 bathroom package added to your tag trailer is the perfect way to go.  The wedge nose design maximizes your trailer storage space, and you can even add a shower with the S3 bathroom trailer package.  Another extremely popular option we offer is the GN3 Walkaround Bathroom trailer.  This design, available on all of our gooseneck trailers, has the bathroom tucked up against the riser wall and still leaves room for stairs leading up to the bunk. Our racer customers love this floorplan for the track…it leaves plenty of room in the garage for your cars and provides quick and easy bathroom access.  You can use the restroom and even wash up, right there in the comfort and privacy of your own trailer.  Oh, and did I mention that the GN3 comes with your choice of oak or aluminum cabinets, 12V sconce lights, RV style toilet, medicine cabinet with mirror, and glass shower door?  Ladies, trust me, this is a classy addition to your trailer…and gentlemen, need I tell you how happy this will make the women in your life?  Of course, we also offer these bathroom packages on our custom trailers – they are an excellent addition to any mobile office or lab trailers, command centers, and even kitchen/vending trailers.  Yes, once again, we take care of all your needs here at ATC and Motiv…even the ones that aren’t often talked about!

Good looking quality!

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

If you are looking for a trailer to haul your Ferrari, Mazzariti, or a group of pet monkeys, The Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC) can meet your needs and exceed your expectations.  However, since you have expensive tastes in automobiles or primates, you probably are not simply interested in having a trailer that gets the job done; you want it to look good while doing it!  If you have ever had a great tasting sausage you might understand that while it tastes good you might not want to know how it was made or what went into it, which if you keep reading you will see that it really does relate to trailers.  Here’s how:

ATC builds great looking trailers, but what about how it was made or what went into it?  The key question to ask is, “This trailer looks good on the dealer lot, but what about months later and many miles down the road”?  ATC builds trailers that look great, and the quality is not simply an airbrushed Vogue cover girl pretty, it actually begins when our sales team takes the initial request and passes the request on to our top-notched engineering team.  Our engineers don’t just make a drawing, but the actually take into account the strength and weight of each piece of material that goes into your trailer and when they are done they will run a FEA on your trailer to ensure that it will hold up to the use, or in the case of the rambunctious primates, the abuse that the trailer will be subjugated to.  Oh, I forgot to say that FEA (finite element analysis)  , which looks like this to geeks j = 1,…,n., and to the rest of us simply means that we make sure that the trailer drawing will actually work in real life.  The bottom line is that ATC make great trailers that are built as well as they look!

Quick Quality

Wednesday, April 15th, 2009

Recently ATC built a new quality trailer for Barrett displays.  Barrett called ATC with a very short timeline.  They needed a quality trailer with some custom features in 3 weeks.  ATC’s team rose to the challenge.  As Mr. Barrett viewed his quality trailer for the first time his words were this looks very nice, I am very happy with the quality and craftsmanship.  Barrett will now take this trailer and turn it into a mobile command center for disaster response.  With ATC’s quick response to build a new trailer complete in three weeks and this unit be an exceptional quality trailer, Barrett is planning on doing more and more business with ATC.  The Aluminum Trailer Company can build just about any custom steel or aluminum framed enclosed trailer that you will ever want or need.  When you need a quality trailer custom built for you to put your designs to work or you would like a complete turn key quality trailer call ATC at 574-773-2440.  To view some of the amazing quality trailers we have already completed go to www.aluminumtrailer/custom.com

Aluminum Car Hauler Trailer

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

If you’re into racing, by necessity, you’re probably also into car hauler trailers…and you know there is a huge variety of them out there.  More than likely you have purchased more than one – and if so, you know that one of the first decisions you have to make is whether to build your trailer out of aluminum or steel.  Steel frame trailers have been around longer and certainly cost less than aluminum; however, aluminum has become extremely popular for all types of trailers, including car haulers.

What are the advantages, you ask?  Why would anyone pay more for aluminum?  Well, the first one most people talk about is the weight difference.  Aluminum is definitely lighter than steel.  The average aluminum frame is 10 to 20 percent lighter than the identical steel frame.  However, that isn’t the only benefit.  One of the best things about aluminum is its rust and corrosion resistance.  Your aluminum trailer will maintain its beautiful appearance year after year with very little upkeep, while you would have to keep a constant watch on your steel trailer for rust.  This also makes the resale value of an aluminum trailer higher than steel.

Another thing to keep in mind with aluminum car hauler trailers is that once you enter the arena of aluminum trailers, you are looking at a whole new realm of quality, fit and finish.  Once a company commits to building an aluminum trailer, they quickly learn to step up to a much greater level.  This is especially true at ATC, where the Quest, our aluminum car hauler trailer, is the only true all-aluminum trailer on the market today.  Give us a call today and let us show you how awesome an all-aluminum trailer can be!

ATV trailers

Monday, April 13th, 2009

There are a few things to keep in mind when looking for an ATV trailer.  Trailer to ground clearances are essential on your ATV trailer.  You will transport your ATV over all kinds of terrain, you want to make sure your tow vehicle and trailer can get you there.  Check the ramp door surface, you will be operating your ATV in all kinds of terrain, water, sand, mud, snow…all things which make for a slippery surface so you will want to make sure the finished surface on the ramp door will not be able to maintain grip with these items on it.  Front access.  Some ATVs do not operate in reverse.  How will you exit the ATV trailer if your ATV doe not go backwards.  Tie downs are also essential.  Do you haul different ATVs, multiple ATVs…more is better when it comes to tie downs.  Check to make sure they are properly fastened.  500 pound D rings screwed through a plywood floor will pull out on a 500 pound load.  Check for backer supports where all tie downs are located in the floor or on the walls.  These are just a few things to look for in your next ATV trailer.

Specialty Trailers

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

If you call most trailer manufacturers to inquire about a specialty trailer, you’ll find it’s really not something they’re excited to build.  The bigger companies in the trailer market prefer to crank out standard trailers, the same thing every time.  It’s much more difficult and time-consuming to build a quality specialty trailer.  But here at ATC and Motiv, we love the challenge!  Specialty trailers ARE our specialty.  Our engineering team is highly qualified and experienced in trailer design, and our production workers are accustomed to highly technical builds.  If you check out our website, you can see examples of specialty trailers we’ve built – concession and vending trailers, medical college teaching trailers, mobile chemical lab trailers, and all types of military and communication trailers.  We’ve designed salmon tagging trailers, a mobile air traffic control trailer, oil field dog house trailers…the list goes on and on.  We have even custom designed and built a trailer specifically to transport a pet monkey – complete with cages, runs, cameras, and entertainment!  There is nothing that we can’t do…in fact, our slogan here is “Our only limitation is your imagination.”  So if you need a specialty trailer, don’t waste your time with any other manufacturer – come straight to the experts here at ATC and Motiv!

Gooseneck Car Hauler

Monday, April 6th, 2009

How many cars do you have to haul?  Did you remember to add up the golf cart, motorcycles, and ATV’s too?  Now that you have taken a full inventory you probably realize — it’s time to step up to a gooseneck car hauler.

Many people are at first intimidated by a gooseneck car hauler, they see the size and a new type of coupling mechanism and it is something that is unfamiliar; scary!  A better understanding of how each system works helps to eliminate this fear and help a customer make a better decision.

The biggest difference between a tag tow behind trailer and a gooseneck trailer is the design of the hitching mechanism. The purpose of having the hitch in the bed is to enable the truck to carry the weight of the trailer directly over its own axles by the location of the gooseneck coupler.  This not only makes for a better ride for your cargo, it also makes for a smoother safer pull in your truck.  The second benefit to a gooseneck car hauler is the location of the pivot point of the trailer.  A normal gooseneck or fifth wheel installation is in the bed of the truck instead of behind the truck.  This provides for smoother, sharper turning capabilities on a longer trailer.  Whether you choose the gooseneck (ball style) coupler or a fifth wheel plate, both mechanisms assure a positive lock between the trailer and your truck.

So, when you realize it’s time to step up to a larger trailer, don’t be afraid to consider a gooseneck car hauler for your hauling needs.  When you are ready, give us a call and let us know how we can help fill your needs in a gooseneck car hauler.

Aluminum Cargo Trailer

Thursday, April 2nd, 2009

No matter what kind of precious cargo you have to carry, we have an aluminum cargo trailer to fit the bill.  Here at ATC we build everything from a 6′ x 12′ aluminum cargo trailer all the way up to a 53′ aluminum cargo trailer.

One of the big advantages of our aluminum cargo trailer is the lightweight design.  With a lightweight design you can pull our trailer will smaller tow vehicles and save fuel in the process.  Our engineering team designed our aluminum cargo trailer out of all tube construction which means that strength and longevity are a standard features.

Another reason our aluminum cargo trailers have been so popular is because our aluminum frame is retardant to rust and corrosion.  That means whether you own the trailer for one year of fifteen years, you will be proud of the appearance.  It also means that you will be guaranteed to never spend a Saturday afternoon repainting the rust on your steel frame.  I don’t know about you, but that sure doesn’t sounds like the relaxing Saturday afternoon that I enjoy.

Check out our innovative line of aluminum cargo trailers on our website.  You can find us at www.aluminumtrailer.com Thanks for your interest and please give us a call if we can help answer any further questions for you.

What exactly is a “utility trailer”?

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

It seems like everybody and their brother defines a utility trailer as something different.  If you do a Google search for utility trailer, you’ll find everything from a 4′ wide open trailer all the way up to a 53′ semi trailer rig.  So, I guess that didn’t exactly narrow my search.  Next, I thought I would see what the good old Webster Dictionary had to say about utility trailers.  Since we all know what the word trailer means, let’s just look at the word utility.  Webster defines utility as “something useful or designed for a use”.  B-I-N-G-O!!!   This fits very well with how ATC and Motiv Trailers view the broad definition of utility trailers.

Here at ATC and Motiv the term “utility trailer” doesn’t have anything to do with a trailer size or style, it has all to do with a trailers design to do a specific or function or task for the owner.  What is the specific task you need your trailer to do?  ATC and Motiv can design a trailer to do that exact job flawlessly.

Many customers come to us and start the conversation asking for a competitive price on a given model.  Too many times, this is the wrong way to evaluate a utility trailer purchase.  We first want to know, what are you using the utility trailer for and how you plan on using it.  From that point we can help guide you into either a standard utility trailer or one that offers conveniences that cater to your exact needs.  When you are contemplating your next utility trailer, let the experts at ATC and Motiv guide you though the process and help you find the perfect trailer that is designed for your specific use!

Smooth Riding Goosenecks

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Back in the day before kids, my wife and I used to deliver trailers on a semi-regular basis.  We had always delivered bumper pull trailers, but my wife quickly got tired of the truck rocking up and down as we went over the bumps in the road.  One day I brought my carsick-prone wife along as I delivered a gooseneck trailer and the whole world changed in her eyes.  With a gooseneck trailer the cab of the truck rode smooth and straight and didn’t buck up and down over the bumps.

So why is it that a gooseneck trailer pulls so much smoother than a typical tag trailer?  With a gooseneck trailer the weight of the trailer is distributed directly over the rear axle of the truck.  The truck suspension is then able to carry the weight of the trailer without bouncing the frame of the truck (and the cab) all over the road.  In a typical bumper pull trailer, the weight of the trailer resides about four feet behind the rear axle of the truck.  When the truck and trailer hit the all-to-common bumps in the road, the suspension of the rear axle can only absorb so much form such a great distance away.

Now, don’t get me wrong, our ATC and Motiv bumper pull trailers pull very well, but when you compare a 30′ tag trailer to a 38′ gooseneck trailer, it just isn’t a fair comparison.  The 38′ gooseneck trailer will pull smoother every day of the week.  Why not look at some of our gooseneck trailers now!

Vending Trailers

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

Nobody knows how to sell your merchandise better than you do.  At ATC & Motiv Trailers we understand that individual products require different display interfaces to best represent and sell that merchandise.  When you choose us, you get a chance to determine how your vending trailer will be laid out.  Whether you need display cases, concession doors, a custom stage, or who knows what else, we will incorporate your design into a vending trailer made just for you.

There are a number of things that you can control when selling a product.  First, you need a great product that has demand, that is something that you will have to take care of.  The next two items can be just as important and this is where we come in.  You need to have a product display that is attractive to a customer.  Having a welcoming platform for your product will make people want to come and see what you have to sell.  Our vending trailers are made to be functional and when you add a few appearance options your “showcase” will stand out in a league of its own.  The last thing that you need to consider when buying a unit is how you want your customers to flow.  By controlling the flow at your display you can help your customers find the best products and sell more products.  It is also important to make it convenient for your customers to find products and make the purchase.

Our sales and engineering staff is here to help you design a trailer that fits your needs and help you design a trailer that maximizes efficiency and flow, helping you sell more product.  When you design an ATC or Motiv vending trailer we provide an attractive showcase and give you the tools to help your customers flow to and through your display.  You wouldn’t have guessed we put so much thought into something as simple as a vending trailer, but we do it for our customers because we are committed to making a great product that will work great for years to come.  So, the next time you are in the market for a vending trailer, be sure to give us a call!

The lightest and strongest open car haulers in the industry.

Friday, March 20th, 2009

The Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC) has been building an all aluminum open car hauler since early 2001.  ATC builds an all aluminum open car trailer that offers the best fit and finish available and the best value.  ATC ’s sales, engineering and production teams work together to design and manufacture one of the lightest, strongest, and best towing open car trailers on the market.

ATC has designed its open car hauler with an extruded deck and a full perimeter frame. We have an open car hauler designed strong enough to handle up to 6000 pounds without the need for steel reinforcements.  This unique design allows ATC to build one of the lightest and strongest open car haulers  in the industry. ATC’s perimeter frame open car hauler design differs from our competitors design in that our sub frames strength comes from our tube frame which runs all the way to the outside of our sub frame.  Not like most open car haulers that rely on a frame that includes outriggers as a key part of the structure.

ATC builds open car haulers in lengths from 16′, 18′ and 20′.  ATC offers open car haulers with tandem 3500# axles and with tandem 5200# axles.  Standard features on an ATC open car hauler include: 4 recessed D rings in the floor, all aluminum construction, extruded floor decking, rear storing loading ramps,  removeable fenders, LED lights, and radial tires.

Nearly ten years of quality trailers on the highway!  ATC is the trailer that you want behind your truck.

“Aluminum Trailer” VS All Aluminum Trailer

Monday, March 16th, 2009

Many manufacturers claim to build an aluminum trailer.  Visit a few retail outlets and you can find several manufacturers who claim to build an aluminum trailer.  Aluminum trailers to most mean that they contain some aluminum in the frame of the trailer…similar to what many think of wheat bread.  Wheat bread can be made with wheat flour or 100% whole grain wheat.  At ATC Trailers, our aluminum trailer frame and structure are 100% aluminum.  The carriage around the running gear, and the tongue area particularly on gooseneck and fifth wheel trailers are typical areas where our competitors use steel.  These areas are areas of high stress, and our competitors use steel because it is cheaper and easier than engineering a structure using high grade structural aluminum.  What is the benefit of an aluminum trailer over its steel counterpart?  Aluminum weighs less than steel and…the same structure in aluminum is 10-15% lighter than a similar steel trailer.  Replacing aluminum with steel decreases the weight difference, minimizing this benefit.  Aluminum is resistant to road salt, water, and the other corrosive materials that destroy steel.  In most aluminum trailers, the under carriage area and the tongue area are the most vulnerable to these corrosive materials when traveling so once again the benefit of aluminum is minimized on our competitors’ trailers.  Take a look underneath the competitors’ trailers and then look under an ATC brand trailer!  That’s where you can really see what an all aluminum trailer really looks like…and the next time you need bread, reach for that 100% whole wheat loaf.

Flatbed Trailers

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

The Aluminum Trailer Company makes the finest aluminum flatbed trailer that money can buy.  If you are in the market for an open car hauler then take the time to check out the latest design that ATC has to offer.  Our all aluminum flatbed trailer weighs less than a steel trailer.  This means that you have more payload available on the deck for your cars and cargo.  Our open car hauler will never have a rust issue, either cosmetic or structural!  An aluminum flatbed trailer won’t rust or have cheap black paint peel off like you see on any steel open car hauler that has been used for any period of time.

Now that you have seen the benefits of aluminum over steel, there are other great features that ATC brings to an open car hauler that you won’t find in a competitors trailers.  Our trailers integrate the ramp storage through the back of the trailer.  This gives you easy access to the ramps right where you need them.  In our new design for 2009 we lowered the deck height on our aluminum open trailers so you have an easier time loading and unloading your car.

With these improvements and excellent standard features such as removable fenders, electric brakes, all aluminum frame and an all aluminum deck; our aluminum flatbed trailers are the best trailer you can find.  Take a second to look at our promotions page and check out some great deals including a limited time offer on our ATC aluminum open car hauler.  We know you won’t be disappointed.

How do you want to use your custom trailer?

Friday, March 13th, 2009

Not all trailer manufacturers build customized trailers, and of those that do choose to take on this daunting task, very few of them do it exceptionally well.  In order to succeed in the customized trailer market you must have knowledgeable trailer experience, and a highly skilled engineering department.  It is scary the amount of customers that come to us and have shopped around for a customized trailer and come back with sketches provided by other manufacturers that are basically written on a bar napkin.

If not done properly, customized trailers can wreak havoc on manufacturers and can become nightmares for the retail customer.  At ATC and Motiv, we begin the process by learning how you want to use customized trailer.  We then provide accurate costing and evaluation for what the project will entail and cost.  And before we begin welding your customized trailer, we will present and require your approval on our customized 3-D engineered drawings.  And guess what, if the drawings don’t meet your approval, we’ll draw them again until it is perfect.

Here at ATC and Motiv we have build our business around the fulfilling exact customer needs on customized trailers.  Some of the recent custom projects we have taken on are, Level I Ballistics trailers of government, 27′ long slide out mechanisms for mobile baggage scanning, air lift hooks capable of picking up the trailer from four roof mounted hooks, ramp doors on both ends of the trailer for a drive though design and mobile communication trailers capable of linking to satellites even when typical phone lines are down.

At ATC and Motiv, customized trailers are our specialty, give us a call or check out our custom trailers page on our website and you’ll see right away why we are the best in the business!

Did you know that Elkhart County, Indiana, is the trailer manufacturer’s capital of the world?

Thursday, March 12th, 2009

Well…that may be a slight exaggeration…but it really is one of the most well-known locations in the industry for producing a huge variety of trailers and RV’s.  Within this relatively small geographic area, you can find hundreds of businesses that are either trailer manufacturers or suppliers for those companies.  And Nappanee, the small town that’s home to ATC and Motiv Trailers, is right there in the midst of all this.

As you can imagine, that has a huge impact on our business and the product we make.  On the positive side, it’s great to have most of our vendors so close.  It means we can get the latest innovations immediately – or, if we can’t find a product that meets our needs, we can simply have it designed.  If you want custom painting, spray-in insulation, or even a hardwood floor in your trailer, all those experts are right here at our fingertips.  It can definitely present a challenge from time to time – when you’re surrounded by trailer manufacturers, the competition is fierce.  But we welcome that challenge, because it has driven us to design and build a trailer that is far superior to anything else available.  So many trailer manufacturers build cookie-cutter trailers, all identical to what the guy down the street is doing, all striving to build as many trailers possible.  That is not our goal at ATC and Motiv Trailers.  Instead, we focus on quality and craftsmanship, and building a trailer that exceeds your expectations every single time.  It’s that commitment that makes ATC and Motiv stand out in the crowd!

Concession Trailer or Upfitted Cargo Trailer?

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

There are many companies out there that make concession trailers, some of them are good, some of them are low quality knockoffs. At ATC & Motiv Trailers we make high quality, long lasting trailers that you will be happy with for the life of your trailer. Whether you want a turn key unit or just a shell to install your own equipment we can build the unit for you. Our concession trailers feature a frame up design that starts with a completely custom engineered drawing. When we start to build your vending trailer, it starts in the weld shop as a concession trailer from the start. That means that you have a stronger trailer that was designed to be a concession trailer so you will have years of worry free use. Other concession trailer vendors will buy simple cargo trailers and cut and hack away at them to add doors and windows. This retrofitting can hurt the frame of the trailer and cause future issues. Just what is a trailer dealer exactly?

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

There are dealers everywhere, for all sorts of products…but what is it that they really do?  It can get confusing, especially with the broad trailer market.  Technically speaking, a dealer is anyone who sells on behalf of another company or organization – whether it is cars, antiques, or trailers.  They should be highly trained and specialized in that product, and a good trailer dealer will offer an authorized service center and parts department.  Sadly, some places fall far short of these expectations.  However, the vast majority of trailer dealers offer the best products and services available.

This is especially the case with ATC and Motiv trailer dealers.  We will only sell our product through the best dealer network out there.  Our dealers are specialists in our custom all-aluminum ATC and high quality steel Motiv lines.  Cargo trailers, race trailers, motorcycle or toy haulers – they are experts on it all, and often have it in stock right there on their lots.  And if it’s a custom-built trailer you’re looking for, nobody is better qualified than our dealers to help you design your perfect trailer.  We work closely with our dealers, every step of the process – from the initial rough quote, to the custom drawn blueprints, on the production line, and finally delivery.  And we have seen satisfied customers, time and time again.  Our dealers are the type that inspire customer loyalty, and will take care of you long after you’ve picked up your trailer.  So if you’re in the market for a top-notch, superior quality trailer, just check our dealer locator at www.aluminumtrailer.com/find a dealer – or give us a call toll-free at 877-441-2440.  We will hook you up with the best trailer dealers in the business!

Motorcycle trailer with a full perimeter frame

Monday, March 9th, 2009

The Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC) has been building an all aluminum motorcycle trailer since early 2001.  ATC builds an all aluminum frame motorcycle trailer and offers the best fit and finish available.  ATC ’s sales, engineering and production teams work together to design and manufacture the best motorcycle trailer on the market.

ATC has designed its motorcycle trailer with a full perimeter frame. We have a motorcycle trailer strong enough to handle your fully decked out bikes without the need for steel reinforcements.  This unique design allows ATC to build one of the lightest motorcycle trailers in the industry. ATC’s perimeter frame motorcycle trailer design differs from our competitors design in that our sub frames strength comes from our tube frame which runs all the way to the outside of our sub frame.  Not like most motorcycle trailers that rely on a frame that includes outriggers to support their side walls.

ATC builds motorcycle trailers in lengths from 12′ up to 20′. We can custom design a motorcycle trailer in lengths up to 53′. ATC’s motorcycle trailers inside heights come with a standard height of 6′.   Additional heights of up to 8′ are available. ATC builds motorcycle trailers in both 7.5′ and 8.5′ widths.  The 7.5′ wide design is set up to fully dressed bikes to easily fit side by side and the narrower design makes it easier to see when towing the trailer.  The 8.5′ wide trailer is a foot wider and allows for the maximum interior storage space.  ATC motorcycle trailers have been on the road since 1999 and continue to offer the best value in the trailer industry

Finding the Right Manufacturer

Sunday, March 8th, 2009

I typed Car Haulers in my Google search engine and it came back with over 1 million hits on those keywords.  Every kind of car hauler you could possibly imagine, steel, aluminum, open, fully enclosed, 1 car to 10 car haulers are all available at every price range.  Given all these options, how does a consumer decide which one best fits his or her needs?  The most important factor in selecting your car hauler is finding the right manufacturer.  Understanding the company’s mission, is it to be the price leader or the highest quality product with the most expensive parts, to be the largest volume producer, to be the most recognized name in car haulers, to offer the gamut of car haulers.  Obviously the mission of the car hauler manufacturer will dictate the final product affecting everything from the design of the car hauler to the delivery process.  How many years has the manufacturer been building car haulers?  There is constant change…car dimensions change, consumer preferences change, more storage, sleeping quarters, bathroom facilities, awnings, entrance door widths, rear ramp door heights, tow vehicle capabilities.  You want a manufacturer who has the knowledge and experience to understand your needs, not only for your trailer but for resale, you want a trailer that holds its market value.  ATC & Motiv Trailers is a niche manufacturer of enclosed car haulers and has been for the last 8 years building car haulers for the weekend race enthusiast, the classic car buff, and for the professional race team.  Our sales team along with our design and structural engineers knowledge and experience insure that every car hauler manufactured by ATC & Motiv Trailers is built to our customers exacting standards equipped especially for them.

Aluminum Trailer Company

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

What’s in a name?  Here at the Aluminum Trailer Company, we think our name pretty much says it all.  We are THE premium aluminum trailer manufacturer.  World class, precision built aluminum trailers are our primary objective.  Even our website, www.aluminumtrailer.com, shows our dedication to building nothing but the best quality aluminum trailer.  The founders of the Aluminum Trailer Company had a ton of clever ideas when it was time to name their new company, but in the end, they decided to keep it simple and to the point.  Some may think it’s not the most original name in the world, but we think it just shows our commitment to our product…and our single-minded pursuit of aluminum trailer excellence.  Of course, the Aluminum Trailer Company can be a bit of a mouthful – so we usually shorten it to ATC.  And we always include our top notch line of steel trailers, Motiv, in our full company name, logos, letterhead, etc.  But from day one, ATC has always been driven to design and produce the best all-aluminum trailer in the industry.  As a matter of fact, we are the only true all-aluminum trailer out there.  Our tube construction gives our trailers incredible strength while keeping weight to a minimum – and the aluminum frame will stand the test of time while other trailers fall apart.  So if you’re in the market for an aluminum trailer, really, it’s quite obvious…the Aluminum Trailer Company is the place to go.  Come see the experts – we’ll exceed your expectations, time and time again!

All Aluminum Snowmobile Trailer

Thursday, March 5th, 2009

The Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC) is the only company that builds an all aluminum frame on a snowmobile trailer.  Most manufactures add steel reinforcements to the axle area.   This area tends to take the bulk of the stress on a snowmobile trailer.Because ATC has designed its snowmobile trailer with a full perimeter frame we have a snowmobile trailer strong enough to handle your biggest load of sleds without the need for steel reinforcements.  This unique design allows ATC to build one of the lightest snowmobile trailers in the industry. ATC’s perimeter frame snowmobile trailer design differs from our competitors design in that our sub frames strength comes from our tube frame runs all the way to the outside of our sub frame.  Not like most snowmobile trailers that rely on a frame that includes outriggers to support their side walls.

ATC builds snowmobile trailers in lengths from 12′ up to 27′. ATC’s snowmobile trailers inside heights come with a standard height of 6′. ATC builds snowmobile trailers in both 7.5′ and 8.5′ widths.  The 7.5′ wide design is set up as an inline loading trailer whereas the 8.5′ wide trailer is designed for side by side loading.     ATC snowmobile trailers have been on the road since 1999 and continue to offer the best value.

To stack or not to stack… that is the question.

Stacker TrailerThere are many reasons why an ATC or Motiv stacker trailer might be right for you.  Most of our customers choose to go with a stacker trailer because they have multiple vehicles or extensive cargo and already have a heavy duty tow vehicle.  ATC and Motiv stacker trailers are built in either the bumper pull or gooseneck design.

There are many lift options that can be installed in your custom stacker trailer.  The old tried and true method is to install a standard 14′ hydraulic 4-post lift.  These lifts can be installed with a split rail, full floor or with a removable center panel design.  Seeing as how we are “The Aluminum Trailer Company” we thought we would be remiss if we did not offer a complete aluminum frame lift.  Back in 2001 we engineered and designed our first all aluminum lift system and have been improving it ever since.  On of the largest benefits to all aluminum lift system is the light weigh design.  When compared to a traditional steel frame lift, an aluminum frame lift can save aprox 400#.  We also offer a full rear lift gate model for our tag and gooseneck stacker trailers.  A liftgate trailer allows for greater efficiency loading and has been very popular in many race crowds.

Make sure you check out our stacker trailer gallery on our website at http://www.aluminumtrailer.com/stacker trailers. Go ahead and raise your expectations, you will be blown away with our innovate line of stacker trailers.
