Advantech Floor in ATC and Motiv Trailers

Monday, August 30th, 2010

Every once in a while we get customers asking us why we use Advantech floors in our trailers… Here’s the scoop.

There really is only one downside to Advantech and that is that customers sometimes initially think it is just cheap chipboard and we are cutting corners to save cost.  A simple look into Advantech proves otherwise.

The true facts are that Advantech was created by Huber Woods out Charlotte, North Carolina for the housing industry.  They created this board because housing contractors were complaining that the standard plywood sub floors on their houses were delaminating when it sat unprotected in the snow, sleet and rain.  Huber woods created Advantech to withstand the moisture that was destroying the plywood subfloors.  Advantech is a manufactured wood board but it is different than any other OSB on the market.  It is made with non-water soluble glue and it is compressed with 4 times the pressure than that of a normal OSB.  If you look at the board close up you will clearly see the difference between this board and any other OSB.

Advantech is used exclusively in our snowmobile trailers and it works better than any other product.  The snow comes and melts but it does not penetrate the board.  All you have to do is simply sweep the water out of the trailer.  Due to the density of the board it also does well holding up against the sharp snowmobile carbides.  With a plywood floor, you need to change the plywood every few years because the carbides tear the plywood to sheds.  With Advantech the carbides will scratch and mar the surface, but it will not penetrate the board.  We’ve seen many “well seasoned” snowmobile trailers come in with noting more than scratches on the floor… nothing like a plywood floor.

Another huge benefit Advantech provides is in on our wide body car haulers.  Advantech can be ordered in any width we want, whereas plywood can only be ordered in at 96″ wide.  On a 102″ wide body trailer that means that there has to be a silly 3” plywood seam the entire length of there trailer.  With Advantech we order our boards in at 99″ wide so it PERFECTLY fits into a wide body frame design.

Motorcycle Trailers

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Motorcycle trailers are everywhere.  You’ve seen them and didn’t even know it.  They hide the precious cargo of motorcycle lovers all over the country.  If you ride, you know what I’m talking about.  It’s not only motorcycle being hauled in your motorcycle trailer; it’s a huge investment and it is your baby.  Your pride and joy.

That’s why you need a motorcycle trailer designed to take excellent care of your bike.  A motorcycle trailer designed from the bottom up to give you years of incredible towing and a mobile garage to move your motorcycle any where you want to ride.

ATC/Motiv motorcycle trailers fit the bill.  Top design starts at the bottom of the trailer; the sub frame.  All tube frame work makes ATC/Motiv the strongest motorcycle trailer on the market…  Tube walls and tube roof complete the framework of the trailer and provide years of strength and towing satisfaction.

The inside of the trailer can be tricked out almost any way you want it.  Popular options include smooth aluminum walls and ceiling, coin flooring, all aluminum cabinetry, 110 volt and 12volt lighting.  This list is only the beginning, the options are almost endless.

ATC has been perfecting the motorcycle trailer for 10 years.  Give our motorcycle trailer a look.  We think you will like what you see.

Motorcycle Trailers

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Pack your bags, and load your hogs… its time for a road trip.  Chance are if you are going to Daytona or Sturgis you will be in good company with your ATC or Motiv motorcycle trailer.  I’m always pleasantly surprised at how many ATC and Motiv motorcycle trailers I see at the national rallies.  I guess what they say is true, motorcycle guys and gals really do appreciate and recognize precision craftsmanship.

Yeah, there certainly are manufactures out there that sell motorcycle trailers for less, but  many of them dip well below the acceptable threshold of quality.  I’m all for a good price, but some of these trailers are bordering on ridiculous.  The key to ATC and Motiv success in the motorcycle trailer market is focusing on value.

We proudly provide more value than any other manufacturer due to our quality of design, unmatched craftsmanship and our warranty program.  Give us a try and we’ll be happy to make you a believer in ATC and Motiv motorcycle trailers!

Aluminum Motorcycle Trailers

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

ATC has been building an all aluminum motorcycle trailer for over 10 years now.  We have always been on the cutting edge of design and quality.  Whether your needs are basic or you want a fully decked out design ATC can build you the trailer of your dreams.

ATC’s all aluminum motorcycle trailers are just that, all aluminum.  Most companies can’t say that.  That is because they reinforce their trailers with steel.  They haven’t figured out how to build an all aluminum motorcycle trailer that will hold up to the rigors of daily towing without reinforcing it with steel.  At ATC we figured that out ten years ago.

ATC has designed its aluminum motorcycle trailer with a full perimeter frame. We build our aluminum motorcycle trailer strong enough to handle your fully decked out bikes without the need for steel reinforcements.  This unique design allows ATC to build one of the lightest and strongest aluminum motorcycle trailers on the market.  Our perimeter frame aluminum motorcycle trailer design differs from our competitors design in that our sub frames strength comes from our tube frame which runs all the way to the outside of our sub frame.  Not like most motorcycle trailers that rely on a frame that includes outriggers to support their side walls.

All things considered, don’t you want your aluminum motorcycle trailer to be “all” aluminum?  Don’t cheat yourself, when you go shopping for an aluminum motorcycle trailer, buy the only all aluminum motorcycle trailer on the market, Buy ATC.

Motorcycle Trailers

Monday, May 31st, 2010

Doesn’t it strike you as odd that we sometimes use one type of vehicle to transport another kind of vehicle? Not that I’m complaining, it’s one of the trailers that we manufacture where I work and it does put food on my table. Not quite following me? I’m talking about motorcycle trailers. You see, obviously you ride a motorcycle and I’m sure it can take you quite far. There was once a famous movie about a motorcycle trip. It was Easy Rider, and for those of you who have never heard of it, it’s a pity that you have not. Anyway back to my point. You can also drive a truck, and I’m sure depending on the weather it’s probably more comfortable. Therefore, why is it that some motorcycle riders need a truck and motorcycle trailer to get to where they want to then ride the motorcycle?

Ok. I am going to give the readers that are a little slow on the comprehension some time to think about that. Ok. Time’s up. Go back and reread the first paragraph. It’s all about the comfort. If the guys in Easy Rider where alive (Hint: they are and they are some pretty famous actors) they would be in their sixties. Now I’m not saying there aren’t some old bikers out there who couldn’t ride cross country and are still tough as nails, but really why would you want too.

You get a great motorcycle trailer from ATC that’s www.aluminumtrailer.com you put your hog it. You drive the first 1,000 miles to Sturgis in the comfort of your truck, your $ 30,000 baby is safe in the trailer. You stop about 100 miles away, rub some dirt and grease on your face and in your hair, and you drive the rest of the way on your bike. I mean who’s going to know, unless you tell them. Then again, maybe you want to brag about your trailer too. I’m just saying. And by way, it will put food on my table. Let me know if I could help you out. Happy Biking!

Motorcycle Trailer

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

It seems that most people are familiar with ATC and Motiv’s outstanding custom trailer capacities, and of course our ability to build a knock-out race car trailer is common knowledge in the industry.  But sometimes it feels like our motorcycle trailer line is a little less well known.  I think this is a shame, because some of our most outstanding trailers are our motorcycle haulers.  These trailers tend to be smaller than the car haulers or mobile office trailers, but in my opinion they are really where ATC and Motiv’s innovative design capability and amazing craftsmanship shine through.

The ATC SS Series all aluminum motorcycle trailer is a perfect example of simplicity with elegance.  The base model is amazingly value priced, and an excellent choice for someone who needs a lightweight basic hauler for a couple of bikes.  When you add our GTS package, and our premium interior package, it takes things to an entirely new level.  Features like interior aluminum walls and ceiling, coin rubber flooring, custom aluminum cabinet and dresser closet, and AM/FM/CD stereo and speakers round out the inside – and the outside is smokin’ hot with stainless steel verticals and trim, aluminum wheels, rear paddle latches, flow thru vent system, and sweet graphics.  As always, you have your choice of colors inside and out – including your cabinets!  And if you really want to turn heads, check out our photo gallery at www.AluminumTrailer.com/motorcycle to see what we can do for your show trailer!  We added an awning, windows, and a deluxe wedge cabinet and countertop to make the perfect display for any bike.

So if you are looking for an awesome way to take your bikes on the road, give ATC and Motiv a chance to build you an amazing trailer.  We promise to make it something you’ll never forget!

Motorcycle Trailers

Monday, May 18th, 2009

So, you love the rumble of your hog as you strut your pride while driving down Sunset Strip as the sun sets on a warm summer night.  People turn their heads before you get to them because of the hum and thump of your Harley-Davidson Road King Classic motorcycle reaches their ears like a prelude to the visual feast that your motorcycle brings to all.  I know you ride to live and live to ride, but it is a long haul to Sturgis, MI and do you really want all those miles on your bike when the real fun is being their?  I don’t think so.  The best way to get your motorcycle to Sturgis is in a great looking motorcycle trailer that will not only get you there but get it done in style.  The Aluminum Trailer Company designs their motorcycle trailers with quality and style in mind.  They come with wheel chocks, custom build aluminum cabinets, and a great stereo/DVD player with 4 speakers.  The outside of the motorcycle trailer is built with a screwless exterior to give it a smooth look, and great looking aluminum spoke wheels.  When you pull up with your ATC motorcycle trailer, people will crane their heads in anticipation as you open the ramp door and pull your hog out.  Your ATC aluminum motorcycle trailer will be a great way to protect your investment as you get to your location so you can ride with a group and have the time of your life.  You can take lots of pictures and post them on the Sturgis rally page and have people admire your hog and your motorcycle trailer for years to come.

Motorcycle trailer with a full perimeter frame

Monday, March 9th, 2009

The Aluminum Trailer Company (ATC) has been building an all aluminum motorcycle trailer since early 2001.  ATC builds an all aluminum frame motorcycle trailer and offers the best fit and finish available.  ATC ’s sales, engineering and production teams work together to design and manufacture the best motorcycle trailer on the market.

ATC has designed its motorcycle trailer with a full perimeter frame. We have a motorcycle trailer strong enough to handle your fully decked out bikes without the need for steel reinforcements.  This unique design allows ATC to build one of the lightest motorcycle trailers in the industry. ATC’s perimeter frame motorcycle trailer design differs from our competitors design in that our sub frames strength comes from our tube frame which runs all the way to the outside of our sub frame.  Not like most motorcycle trailers that rely on a frame that includes outriggers to support their side walls.

ATC builds motorcycle trailers in lengths from 12′ up to 20′. We can custom design a motorcycle trailer in lengths up to 53′. ATC’s motorcycle trailers inside heights come with a standard height of 6′.   Additional heights of up to 8′ are available. ATC builds motorcycle trailers in both 7.5′ and 8.5′ widths.  The 7.5′ wide design is set up to fully dressed bikes to easily fit side by side and the narrower design makes it easier to see when towing the trailer.  The 8.5′ wide trailer is a foot wider and allows for the maximum interior storage space.  ATC motorcycle trailers have been on the road since 1999 and continue to offer the best value in the trailer industry

Buy an ATC motorcycle trailer today!  You will be glad you did.

Motorcycle trailers are part of the motorcycle experience

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

ATC and Motiv Trailers have been much more successful penetrating the motorcycle trailer market than the utility trailer market.  Many times we have asked ourselves why this is, because we build a really great line of cargo/utility trailers.  We realized it all comes down to one word “passion”.  Motorcycling is more than a hobby or an extra curricular activity; it is a lifestyle that people are passionate about.  When people are passionate about things, they are willing to spend a little more to get a product that has more flash and will outperform another product.

I’m not saying that landscapers and contractors are not passionate about their business, but when is the last time you heard a landscaper or contractor talk about the really cool utility trailer they were getting ready to buy to carry their tools around in?  A cargo trailer is simply a necessity for carrying tools from point A to point B.  Motorcycle trailers on the other hand are quite different.

Motorcycle trailers are part of the motorcycle experience.  At the rallies and events we travel to we have noticed that good motorcycle trailers will become the hub or the area where people hang out.  For that very reason many of our motorcycle trailers are equipped with surround sound TV systems, bathrooms, lounge facilities, and yes even keggerators with beer taps!  With a high end ATC or Motiv trailer, get ready to call your trailer “mission central” at the next big rally.

ATC Motorcycle Trailers – Completing the Package

Friday, May 9th, 2008

I’ve heard it time and time again, “I’ve got a nice truck and a great bike…what I need now is a trailer that compliments them.” Well, there’s little doubt from anyone that the GTS is THE premier motorcycle trailer in the industry. Time and time again cyclists are “completing their package” and investing in a GTS.

During the 2006 Daytona Bike Week rally I was fortunate enough to help one of our customers “complete the package.” He had a Boss Hoss with a beautiful custom paint job and the big V-8 motor! His tow vehicle, none other than a Porsche Cayenne…so you want to talk about someone eager to complete the package, this was it! When you have these kind of “toys” you’re not interested in a run of the mill trailer, you’re looking for something that sets you apart from the crowd…you just won’t settle for the ordinary!

Well, enter the GTS; and our customer couldn’t have been more excited about his new trailer. A black Porsche Cayenne pulling a black GTS, it really just doesn’t get much better than that…that is until he unloads his Boss Hoss. It’s not hard to imagine what a spectacle it is when he drops the rear ramp door and fires up his Boss Hoss V-8 engine…backing this machine out of the GTS is quite a site.

You don’t have to own a Boss Hoss or a Porsche Cayenne to appreciate the superior quality, fit and finish of a GTS (but it doesn’t hurt)!

Myrtle Beach Bike Week

Monday, July 16th, 2007

Myrtle Beach Bike Week was a success this year and ATC had a little extra surprise at the booth located at Broadway at the Beach…it was one of their GTS all-aluminum, all-tube frames. People were excited to see what normally can’t be seen…the actual construction that is hidden under the floor and behind the interior and exterior walls.
As one bystander stated, “Seeing is believing…and now I can better understand what puts ATC in a class all by itself.” Most manufacturers wouldn’t dare place their bare frame on display, but ATC is proud of their 100% all-aluminum, all-tube construction…in simple terms, there’s just nothing to hide!
At ATC we realize the very core of a trailer begins with the frame and we’re not willing to sacrifice quality at any level. Just because you don’t normally see the frame is no reason to short change your customers…you need to deliver the highest quality product possible and the strength of our trailers begins with a quality frame built to last. Our competitors rely on the strength provided by the addition of interior walls or heavier exterior panels, but at ATC we let our designs and superior materials deliver the unmatched strength!
The frame was such a success in Myrtle Beach don’t be surprised if you don’t end up seeing more frames at future shows…it just shows you everything and we feel that it’s important for our customers to know what they’re getting for their hard-earned dollar!

Daytona Bike Week

Thursday, March 15th, 2007

2007 Daytona Bike Week was a huge success. This might possibly be the best retail show I have ever experienced. There is little doubt that overall attendance was down over past years, but this certainly didn’t slow down the sales of trailers.

I believe the exceptional quality of the trailers is what has driven the companies success. Time and time again people are simply floored when they see their first Motiv Trailer. People have become complacent in accepting subpar quality from the “run of the mill” trailer builders out there. Motiv has and always will remain true to building a trailer that exceeds the expectations of even the most discriminating buyer.

If you weren’t able to make it down to Daytona Bike Week you can also catch us at the Panama City Thunder Beach Spring Rally May 3-6. This is always a biker favorite with the Gulf shores and pristine beaches just a stones throw from the rally.

Motiv Steel and Aluminum Motorcycle Trailers

Wednesday, March 14th, 2007

Motiv by ATC has an attitude that is much different than your standard trailer company. Instead of trying to skimp on materials and degrade quality for the sake of price we have taken the time to design the best built and highest quality trailers avaiable. This is extremely evident when you consider our Motorcycle line. We believe that the motorcycle that you case so much about and have so much invested in should have a trailer that it looks like it belongs in.

Our lineup includes both steel and aluminum trailer. Our GTX trailer mimics the features and functionality that the ATC GTS has. The only major difference between the trailers is the Steel Frame vs. Aluminum Frame. The same level of quality and craftsmanship go into making each of these trailers and they will both certainly be the star of any Bike Show.

Motiv also offers an affordible line of Motorcycle Aluminum Trailers (named MSA). By keeping the options limited we are able to streamline these trailers and offer you extra savings on a great motorcycle. This trailer has many great features and has the extra benefit of being lightweight with coomplete aluminum construction. This trailer is still made from superior materials with the same precision craftsmen working on the trailer, but by streamlining it we are able to pass the savings on to you.

Check out our complete line of Motorcycle trailers under the Trailers tab. You will certainly not be disappointed. Just don’t be surprised if the trailer takes over the star space that you ride used to get at the next bike show.

Luxury Aluminum Motorcycle Trailers

Thursday, March 8th, 2007

ATC has created a new niche in the motorcycle trailer market for “Luxury Aluminum Motorcycle Trailers”. We decided to tap into this market about four years ago for three key reasons. 1)We are really good at building high-end trailers. 2)We heard our customers asking for a “better” motorcycle trailer. 3) Lastly, we never understood why someone would spend $25,000 (and much, much more) on a nice bike and then haul it to a rally in a junky steel trailer.

We recognize that our motorcycle trailers do cost more than some of the “other guys”. We designed our trailers are for the guys and gals out there who are truly passionate about great biking. We know we are in a smaller market than the mass-produced motorcycle trailers, but it sure puts a warm spot in our hearts knowing that we build the best trailer that money can buy.

Take a good look at our motorcycle offerings. They look great in photos, but you really have to see one in person to fully understand the passion that goes into each and everyone of our motorcycle trailers.
