Toy Hauler Trailers

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Toy hauler trailers are similar to living quarter trailers in that they have some of the same components.  However the purpose of a toy hauler is a bit more defined as hauling toys and doubling as living space when toy hauler owners are playing at an event.  Toy haulers usually include some kind of living space.  Toy hauler trailers also include a garage space of some kind for the transport of the toys.  Toy hauler trailers sometimes mix the two of these items into one so that they use the space inside the trailer more efficiently.  Toy haulers come in all shapes and sizes.  Toy hauler trailers can be large or small and can be a full living quarter or just a bathroom/kitchen with a garage.  ATC living quarter trailers are equipped to carry much larger loads than most travel trailer or RV based toy hauler trailer.  You very often can get a disappointing result when you spend much time and money on a toy hauler trailer.  Toy hauler trailers can very greatly in both material quality and fit/finish.  Because it’s a living space and not a typical trailer, toy hauler trailers to us, seem to be more crucial in these areas.  Toy hauler trailers are made by many manufacturers and there for have a wide range of results.  Toy hauler trailers at ATC get more time and attention than most manufacturers give them.  We feel that toy hauler trailers are very important to our business.

Living Quarter Trailers

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

Living quarter trailers take some unique capabilities to build the right way.  Here at ATC I wouldn’t say that we specialize in living quarter trailers but we do a good job in building them.  Our living quarter trailers don’t really compare to an RV or Travel trailer in either price or design.  Our living quarter trailers usually are highly customized and serve multiple purposes.  Our living quarter trailers can be added to most of our models to make a very unique product that meets a living quarter trailer customers needs.  Living quarter trailers can be slapped together in a way that gives the appearance of a finished livable unit but then have nothing beneath the surface that will satisfy the customer over the long haul.   We have our own custom wood cabinet shop where we make high quality cabinets for our living quarter trailers.  Our living quarter trailers also can be outfitted with aluminum racing cabinets in place of wood as well.  Living quarter trailers also take a special kind of worker that can do finish work as well as being efficient on time.  To fit all of the things required by a place that you expect to live in into a small space afforded by a living quarter trailer is very difficult.  Living quarter trailers become even more difficult to build when they are customized.  We have been building living quarter trailers for about 5 years now and have done pretty well.

Mobile Office Trailers

Friday, August 6th, 2010

Mobile office trailers are a specialized product that many companies build exclusively.  Mobile office trailers are usually built very cheaply for construction sites or mechanical contracting sites.  They are constructed to be parked in one place for a very long time and there fore the running gear of most mobile office trailers built by these companies are not made to withstand many miles on the road.  Mobile office trailers that ATC builds are a bit more expensive but are built to last longer and perform better on the road.  At times there are mobile office trailers that are treated as a throw away product that will only last a few years and then need to be replaced.  The hassle of buying a new mobile office is difficult and the longer one lasts and meets the mobile office customer’s needs.  Sometimes mobile office trailers require multiple talents to do well at.  We have to have a wide variety of strengths to build well.  We need to be able build a product for the mobile office customer that lasts and performs well in a variety of climates and harsh environments.  Longevity is also important with mobile office trailers.

Commercial Trailers

Thursday, August 5th, 2010

Commercial Trailers are a large part of what we do here at ATC.  We tend to do things that commercial trailer customers want.  Commercial trailer buyers tend to be more concerned with performance than with price.  They want their commercial trailer to perform in the field to their expectations no matter what the surrounding circumstances are.  Many people that buy commercial trailers depend on that trailer for their livelihoods.  If the commercial trailer has a problem in the field or does not do what the end user wants it to do, then the whole commercial trailer becomes a wasted product.  Commercial trailer buyers also want a product that will last longer than a typical cheaper cargo style trailer.  When you calculate the monthly cost of a seemingly expensive commercial trailer, the price becomes less of an issue when that commercial trailer lasts 10 years.  Commercial trailers are a very important part of our business and we make sure that our commercial customers are satisfied with all of the projects that we do here at ATC.

Motorcycle Trailers

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

Motorcycle trailers are everywhere.  You’ve seen them and didn’t even know it.  They hide the precious cargo of motorcycle lovers all over the country.  If you ride, you know what I’m talking about.  It’s not only motorcycle being hauled in your motorcycle trailer; it’s a huge investment and it is your baby.  Your pride and joy.

That’s why you need a motorcycle trailer designed to take excellent care of your bike.  A motorcycle trailer designed from the bottom up to give you years of incredible towing and a mobile garage to move your motorcycle any where you want to ride.

ATC/Motiv motorcycle trailers fit the bill.  Top design starts at the bottom of the trailer; the sub frame.  All tube frame work makes ATC/Motiv the strongest motorcycle trailer on the market…  Tube walls and tube roof complete the framework of the trailer and provide years of strength and towing satisfaction.

The inside of the trailer can be tricked out almost any way you want it.  Popular options include smooth aluminum walls and ceiling, coin flooring, all aluminum cabinetry, 110 volt and 12volt lighting.  This list is only the beginning, the options are almost endless.

ATC has been perfecting the motorcycle trailer for 10 years.  Give our motorcycle trailer a look.  We think you will like what you see.

Race Trailers

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

Over the last 20 year the race trailer market has changed dramatically.  Back in the early 1990’s most of the race trailers were rather basic and served one purpose.  That purpose was to get a race car from point a to point b.  When you compare today’s race trailer with the race trailer of the 90’s the changes have been amazing. Current race trailers still serve the basic transportation purpose.  However, the style in which it is done has changed by leaps and bounds.

Race trailers now have as many options in the as you can think of, not just the basics.  Today’s race trailers come with complete electrical packages and full cabinet packages.  The interior of many race trailers is as nicely equipped as many homes or offices.  The interior of race trailers include aluminum walls, vinyl floors, carpet and air conditioning.

Since race trailers often sit at the race track all weekend long many are now equipped with bath rooms or even full blown living quarters!  These packages include all the luxury of a fine hotel room.  You can have your T.V.; surround sound, gas grill, inside and outside shower, and even a washer and dryer.

Race trailers have come a long way over the last 20 years.  If you are in the market for a state of the art race trailer, check out ATC and Motiv.  We build the highest quality race trailers on the planet.

Good Things On The Horizon From ATC and Motiv Trailers

Monday, July 26th, 2010

All great companies must continuously strive to reinvent their products in order to create more value and curb appeal.  I’m proud to say that ATC/Motiv Trailers is a company that has never been satisfied with the status quo.  Over the past 11 years in business we have been constantly searching for ways to improve our trailers.  Yes, we have a great trailer, but there is always room for improvement.  For the past year we have been locking ourselves in the office late hours, drinking lots of coffee and coming up with a host of fresh new ideas for our trailers.

I proud to announce that we are about ready to open the doors and introduce some great new things.  Our first unveiling will be in September at the NATDA (North American Trailer Dealer Association) dealer show in Louisville, Kentucky.  Our public unveiling will be at the PRI (Performance Racing Industry) show in Orlando, Florida in early December.  We have a bag full of tricks and we cannot wait to share our ideas with our customers.

Stay tuned for more great stuff from ATC and Motiv.  Don’t get too excited though, because we’ll probably top this again next year!

Motorcycle Trailers

Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Pack your bags, and load your hogs… its time for a road trip.  Chance are if you are going to Daytona or Sturgis you will be in good company with your ATC or Motiv motorcycle trailer.  I’m always pleasantly surprised at how many ATC and Motiv motorcycle trailers I see at the national rallies.  I guess what they say is true, motorcycle guys and gals really do appreciate and recognize precision craftsmanship.

Yeah, there certainly are manufactures out there that sell motorcycle trailers for less, but  many of them dip well below the acceptable threshold of quality.  I’m all for a good price, but some of these trailers are bordering on ridiculous.  The key to ATC and Motiv success in the motorcycle trailer market is focusing on value.

We proudly provide more value than any other manufacturer due to our quality of design, unmatched craftsmanship and our warranty program.  Give us a try and we’ll be happy to make you a believer in ATC and Motiv motorcycle trailers!

Aluminum Motorcycle Trailers

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

ATC has been building an all aluminum motorcycle trailer for over 10 years now.  We have always been on the cutting edge of design and quality.  Whether your needs are basic or you want a fully decked out design ATC can build you the trailer of your dreams.

ATC’s all aluminum motorcycle trailers are just that, all aluminum.  Most companies can’t say that.  That is because they reinforce their trailers with steel.  They haven’t figured out how to build an all aluminum motorcycle trailer that will hold up to the rigors of daily towing without reinforcing it with steel.  At ATC we figured that out ten years ago.

ATC has designed its aluminum motorcycle trailer with a full perimeter frame. We build our aluminum motorcycle trailer strong enough to handle your fully decked out bikes without the need for steel reinforcements.  This unique design allows ATC to build one of the lightest and strongest aluminum motorcycle trailers on the market.  Our perimeter frame aluminum motorcycle trailer design differs from our competitors design in that our sub frames strength comes from our tube frame which runs all the way to the outside of our sub frame.  Not like most motorcycle trailers that rely on a frame that includes outriggers to support their side walls.

All things considered, don’t you want your aluminum motorcycle trailer to be “all” aluminum?  Don’t cheat yourself, when you go shopping for an aluminum motorcycle trailer, buy the only all aluminum motorcycle trailer on the market, Buy ATC.

Gooseneck Trailers

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

The next time you are at the race track, or for that matter just driving down the road, check out the number of trailers you see.  Then check out the number of gooseneck style versus tag trailers.  Goosenecks trailers will probably out number the tag models two to one.  There are a number of reasons you see so many goosenecks.   Let me tell you about a few.

If you are looking for the best and easiest way to trailer your cargo you want to make sure you checkout a gooseneck trailer.  Gooseneck trailers provide the maximum in payload capacity as well as providing a great ride down the road.  The design of the “gooseneck” allows for more weight to be transferred to the tow vehicle.  The terms gooseneck refers to the part of the trailer that essentially sits on top of the pick up truck or tow vehicle. With this design the front of the gooseneck trailer rides farther forward on the truck and allows more of the weight to be transferred to both axles on the tow vehicle.

This additional weight transfer can be very beneficial.  With the gooseneck design approximately 20 percent of the trailer weight is transferred to the tow vehicle.  When you compare this to 10 percent on a “tag “ trailer, the weight transfer can become rather substantial, allowing you to haul more payload.

Because more of the weight is transferred to the tow vehicle with a gooseneck the drivability of the truck and trailer combination becomes much easier.  Simple put, you don’t have all of the trailer weight riding on the very end of your tow vehicle hitch.  In some cases tag trailers can tow poorly.   With the weight resting over the axles of the truck, towing a gooseneck trailer is much smoother

Bunk Trailers

Friday, July 16th, 2010

When you were growing up did you have to share a room with any of your siblings? If so, did you share a bed or did you have bunk beds? I don’t know how long bunk beds have been around or just when someone decided to save space by stacking two twin beds, but it sure was a lot of fun growing up and having them. There always seemed to be a fight over who took the bottom bunk. For convenience it was certainly the best choice, but the top was always a lot more fun.

Anyway the reason I’ve been thinking about bunk beds is that now they are in trailers. Bunk trailers to be specific. What do I mean, and why is that important? Well it not often that something you do for a living actually ends up doing a lot of good. I build trailers for a living (www.aluminumtrailer.com) and in this case we built bunk trailers. Five of them, if you want to be precise. They had 11 bunks to sleep up to 22 people. Now why or when would you need that kind of accommodations?

That’s were the doing good part come into play. As I’m sure you are aware the first thing you need when you have a natural disaster or even a local emergency is help. But where does the help sleep if there are no hotels functioning or if local houses are destroyed? Voila! The bunk trailer. Our bunk trailers have seen a lot of use in a lot of emergencies helping a lot of people. And well that makes me appreciate what I do. I’m not sure you’ll ever need one, but if you do please check us out. Thanks and Happy Trailering!

Bathroom Trailers

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Did you ever have a time when you just had to go? Go? You know what I mean especially if you’re over 40 or decided to have just a little too much coffee that morning. Anyway, what do you do when you have to go and there is no bathroom in sight? Or maybe you have a phobia regarding those port-a-potties at major outdoor events. You know the ones that seemed like they have not been cleaned for at least two months, or that some little kid was just not quite tall enough to reach all the way, and the seat is wet and it’s not water!!

Well I can’t help everyone but if you’re at a race event, or crafts fair, or boy scout jamboree, or even on the job as a landscaper then I every well can help. You see if you are at those events and you are one of the vendors or participants then you more than likely have trailer that you hauled everything to your event. The next step is easy. Add a bathroom to your next trailer purchase. Bathroom trailers are probably the best idea, since well the trailer itself.

You have all the convenience and privacy, and none of the worries (well you do have to dump the tank occasionally). It is truly the last piece of your trailer. Why am I talking about bathroom trailers? Well I just happen to build them. Check us out at www.aluminumtrailer.com. By the way I speak from experience, I’m that guy who always drinks too much coffee in the morning. Happy Trailerin

Race Car Haulers

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Sometimes our prospective new dealers ask us about the best ways to sell our aluminum race car haulers.  We have found out that just throwing a billboard up at the local race track or taking out a shiny new ad in next weeks motorsports periodical just may not be the best way to reach our customer.  The best way to get race car hauler sales for Motiv or ATC Trailers is to take our trailers out to the track and show people.

Yeah magazine ads looks good and billboards catch a lot of eyes, but what helps ATC / Motiv Trailers win is showing customers face-to-face why our trailers are better.   Our fit-and-finish is second to none, our full perimeter tube frame cannot be beat, and how about a true and fair warranty that we actually pay in less than 30 days (try getting that from the other guys out there).

ATC and Motiv Race car haulers aren’t just better, we are competitively priced too.  I’m not going to say that our price isn’t important, but no where in our sales pitch is price our primary selling point.  Our race car haulers sell because they are the best ones out there… any yes we are competitively priced.

Go to our dealer locater or check us out at the track next weekend and you’ll see why seeing is believing!

Aluminum Gooseneck Trailers

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

One of my favorite things about blogging is highlighting past projects where we have completely exceeded a customers expectations.  A few years back we were asked to build a highline aluminum gooseneck trailer for a guy up in the Toronto area.  As I learned more and more about the project, I began to understand that he didn’t want just any aluminum gooseneck trailer, he wanted the best aluminum gooseneck trailer ever built.

This aluminum gooseneck trailer was going to be used for his snowmobiles in the winter and his ATV’s and motorcycles in the summer.  The trailer was designed and built with a full living quarter and bathroom design.  One important feature of the project was that the customer wanted private sleeping quarters for six people.

What came out of our engineering department was a 46’ gooseneck stacker complete with two slide outs, custom attic bedroom, Amish–made hardwood cabinetry, custom submerged bathroom layout, and a stacker lift system layout that was capable of housing up to 6 snowmobiles and loads of gear.

Arguably, this may have been the best aluminum gooseneck trailer we have ever built.  Check out these images!

Mobile Power

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

There are so many applications for mobile power trailers.  ATC has designed and built what we call the mobile air, power, and light trailer.  The fire industry needs a way to provide light, air, and power to the disaster scene.  Our air, power and light trailers come with a powers 20 Kw diesel generator.  This allows enough power to light up the scene and run air equipment that is used to fill the tanks for the fire breathing apparatus.  Our air trailer is compact enough to be pulled with a ¾ ton truck but also provides enough room for the bottles to be easily filled from the inside of standing outside of the trailer.  It helps us insure the job is done correct without having to worry about tough environment on the outside of the mobile power trailer.  ATC is about to build a beautiful air power and light trailer that also provides a rehabilitation area for the fireman to recharge during deployment.  Keep an eye on www.aluminumtrailer.com/custom (emergency response section) after July 2010 you will see this first of its kind air, power, light and rehab trailer.

Enclosed Trailers

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

You could have had an enclosed trailer.  My guess is that many people think they can’t afford an enclosed trailer but have they considered all of the advantages?  First of all what did you spend on the equipment or toys you are transporting.  An enclosed trailer will keep them safe and secure.  Also an enclosed trailer will help keep your investments out of the public eye, I am sure you have heard the saying out of sight out of mind.  With an enclosed trailer you also create mobile storage for your toys. You also now have a mobile garage to work on your toys when you get to your destination.  Motiv and ATC have launched an all new line of inexpensive enclosed trailers called the ravin light series.  You might be surprised how inexpensive it can be to get a quality built enclosed trailer.  Check out our enclosed trailers on our website at www.aluminumtrailer.com

Monday, June 28th, 2010

If you have done any sort of research on line, you have quickly come to the conclusion that there are many, many choices for you when it comes to choosing a trailer manufacturer to build exactly what you are looking for. We want to make this as easy as possible for you. Chose the Aluminum Trailer Company and Motiv Trailers to be your trailer manufacturer of choice.

We certainly are not the biggest trailer manufacture out there. Nor are we the oldest or the most recognizable trailer manufacturer. What we are is a solid company, who consistently puts out some of the best product that is on the market today. Our company was started a little over ten years ago by a guy who had a vision for aluminum trailers. In an industry where the common practice was to manufacture trailers out of steel, our company was started with the premise that aluminum was the way to go. We have since added a steel line, but we have continued to be on the cutting edge of aluminum trailer manufacturing. Whether you need a standard cargo, motorcycle or car hauler; or you need a highly customized stacker or other specialty trailer, we are the trailer manufacturer for you.

Visit our website at www.aluminumtrailer.com to see what we have to offer. We have wonderful pictures of not only our standard trailers, but also our custom trailers which really show off what our manufacturing capabilities are. We have a dealer locater conveniently included, so you have the option of contacting a dealer directly or call into the office at 877-441-2440 and we would be happy to point you in the right direction.

Mobile Power Trailers

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

The trailer industry is evolving. Fifty years ago it was mainly cargo and concession style trailers and there weren’t a whole of lot of options for folks to choose from. In the last twenty years, car haulers, gooseneck and the like have gained popularity. There are also many more choices for people to go when they are looking for a trailer company. That list narrows however, when someone is looking for a specific, custom application use for a trailer such as for a mobile power source. This is a trailer which needs extra engineering, quality control and production know how to produce.

The Aluminum Trailer Company has partnered with several national companies to do various projects in the mobile power trailer arena. One outfit that ATC has worked frequently with deals directly with the National Guard on various projects. One such project was a mobile power and communications trailer. The specific project called for trailers which would be up fitted with satellite and generator power sources. The trailers would then be mobilized in the event of a natural disaster when communication and power sources were down. The trailer could be used to organize critical relief response to the disaster.

If you are working with a government entity or with a private organization and have a need for a mobile power source then the Aluminum Trailer Company can help design and build what you are looking for. Visit us at www.aluminumtrailer.com for a wide range of examples of not just mobile power trailers, but also communication, command center and other types as well.
