The Aluminum Trailer Company is always searching for news ways to improve not only the quality of our trailers but the interior and exterior look as well. An important change ATC recently made was to standardize LED lights on all trailer models. LED or light emitting diodes are an example of cutting edge technology. The LED lighting concept is extremely different then traditional incandescent lights. There are three main benefits to an LED lighting system. First traditional incandescent lights use a weak metal filament which is susceptible to bumps and vibration in the road. LED’s are a solid system (no moving parts) containing an electronic chip that creates a sturdy lighting device.
Secondly, LED lights are brighter then incandescent lights making them safer while traveling on the road. “In fact studies have shown that LED lights, because of there quicker and brighter response times, provide an extra 24′ of stopping distance at 60 mph”** Transportation Equipment News - January 2001
Finally, LED lights consume less energy. (up to 90% less) This means your tow vehicle’s electric system is not exuding as much energy to light up your tow vehicle which can help to save fuel and the life of your battery.
Did you know that by selecting an aluminum extruded floor in your trailer you can save hundreds of pounds of weight. While aluminum extruded floors weigh slightly less than wood floors, the real savings comes when you compare an extruded floor to a wood floor with a decorative finish. By adding ATP, vinyl, or rubber on top of a wood floor, you can easily add hundreds of pounds to the curb weight of your trailer.
Since aluminum extruded floors are one of the most resilient floor options, it also greatly increases the resale value of your trailer. When it comes time to sell your trailer, you still have a lightweight, durable, good-looking floor.
The other big advantage to extruded floors is the strength it provides. Aluminum extruded floors are one of the strongest floors because when the aluminum floor is welded down to your aluminum frame structure, it acts like a cross member that spans the entire length of the trailer. With an extruded aluminum floor you can have the best of both worlds… the strongest AND lightest floor available.
Motiv Trailers has worked hard to create a dealer base that possesses an extensive knowledge of our product. It is important to Motiv Trailers that our dealers are able to understand the engineering, construction and benefits of our trailers which will in return help them place the retail customer in the trailer that will best satisfy their needs. Motiv has worked on setting dealers up all over the country to be able to provide service throughout the United States. Please contact Motiv Trailers toll free at(877) 441-2440 for a dealer near you!
The Aluminum Trailer Company has worked hard to create a dealer base that possesses an extensive knowledge of our product. It is important to ATC that our dealers are able to understand the engineering, construction and benefits of our trailers which will in return help them place the retail customer in the trailer that will best satisfy their needs. One main training program we have created for our dealers is “stacker certification training”. This training program provides them with the tools they need in order to make certain the critical measurements of the vehicles being placed on the lift and main floor are obtained. Only “stacker certified” dealers are able to order and sell stacker trailers from ATC. This helps to ensure the retail customer is being sold a product by a trained professional. Yeah, you heard it right, “Buy and ATC Aluminum Trailer and Save Money”. Did you know that the typical ATC all-aluminum trailer weighs 30% less than a comparably equipped steel trailer. That means when you pull your ATC trailer, you’ll save 1500# in curb weight when compared to your buddy pulling a 5000# steel trailer. That is a lot of weight savings my friend! Last time I filled up my truck at the gas station they weren’t exactly giving away gas. With gas prices upwards of $3.00 per gallon, wouldn’t you rather pull 1500# less weight?
Another place ATC trailers will save you money is when it comes time to sell your trailer. A great looking ATC used trailer will demand a high resale value. But we’ll save that discussion for another blog. Until then, Happy Trailering!
Due to overwhelming customer requests Motiv now paints our frames silver. This may seem like a small shift, but according to consumers, this new paint gives the trailer a much cleaner look. This new silver paint does cost more than the typical black primer paint, but helps the trailer maintain that “upper-end look” that Motiv Trailers has become associated with. See your dealer to see which models get this new silver look.
If you’re looking for an all aluminum trailer, ATC is the trailer for you. You will find no steel in this top of the line aluminum trailer. ATC is the only all-aluminum, all-tube trailer on the market.
Take a look around, you will find other so called “aluminum trailers” with steel reinforcements in the axle area and where the front “A” frame meets the sub frame of the trailer.
ATC’s full perimeter all aluminum frame supplies the strength needed to build the best trailer without steel reinforcements
What makes ATC trailers the best in the business? While our attention to detail and overall craftsmanship has gained a lot of attention, the best part of our trailers may be the part that you have never seen. Its our frame! ATC builds an all-aluminum frame that is durable enough for even the most rigorous commercial applications.
Keep in mind, when we say all-aluminum frame, we mean all-aluminum frame. We are the only aluminum trailer manufacturer that can claim that “every structural member of the trailer frame is 100% aluminum.” Try taking that to the other manufacturers.
Motiv Trailers has recently upgraded to a new level quality in our aluminum cabinets. Motiv aluminum cabinets offer a much more refined look than some of the “homemade” cabinets on the market. Due to our creative use of aluminum extrusions, we proudly offer a great looking cabinet without the burden of a lot of unnecessary weight. A typical upper and lower cabinet package only weighs 70 pounds. When customers compare our aluminum frame cabinets to the typical wood frame cabinets, it is clear to see why the “seasoned trailer buyer” chooses Motiv.
Because we build our cabinets completely in-house we are able to offer greater flexibility in cabinet configurations and designs. Call us today to discuss your cabinet needs.
