Bikertoberfest 2007 - Daytona Beach, FL

The last major bikeweek rally of the year was a tremendous success. While the overall bike count was down approximately 30% there was still a great crowd of people out enjoying the beautiful weather. The Daytona Beach Chamber of Commerce attributes the decline in attendees to the high fuel costs that are being seen across the nation.

ATC and Motiv trailers were once again on display at Robin Hanger's The Car Shop Trailer Sales located in US1 in Holly Hill, Florida. The location is tremendous for the spring and fall bike ralleys as they are strategically located between Daytona Beach and Bruce Rossmeyer's Destination Daytona Harley Davidson dealership which has become a must see hot spot during everyones visit.

The Car Shop Trailer Sales have an extremely large inventory of ATC and Motiv trailers ranging from the ever popular GTS to Motiv's line of incredible Toy Haulers and everything in between. The show was a success as quite a few retail sales were realized and contacts were made to secure future sales. Keep your eyes open as you are likely to see ATC and Motiv at the larger bike ralleys!

ATC...The Racer's Choice

Racer's across the nation are seeing the value that ATC has to offer. Whether they're looking for a lightweight alternative to a steel frame trailer or simply looking for a trailer with exceptional fit and finish ATC is putting more racers into trailers than ever before.
It's not just the racecars and engines that are getting the attention, racers are taking their time and doing their homework when it comes to selecting the trailer that's going to get them to and from the track. With features like an all-aluminum, all-tube frame ATC stands apart from the other manufacturers that typically offer steel subframes and open-ended extrusions like z-rails, c-channels and I-beams.
Next time you're at the track take a moment and ask an ATC owner about their trailer, you won't be surprised to learn that they're just as excited to tell you about their trailer as they are their racecar. ATC...the choice of racers across the country!

Full Tube Construction

If you're familiar with ATC you already know we build one of the finest trailers available in the industry...but did you know that we build each and every ATC trailer utilizing an ALL tube construction?

That's right, when it came to designing our frames we didn't cut corners or use inferior materials. Every structural component on an ATC trailer is built with aluminum tubing. Other manufacturers use less expensive and weaker extrusions like L-angles, I-beams, Z-rails and other open ended extrusions.

At ATC we know the foundation of every trailer begins with a solid frame, not only in design but in the materials we use. So if you're comparing our trailer to our competitors, realize what you're getting before you invest your hard-earned dollars. At ATC we build better trailers with better materials.

Understanding Value

It goes without saying that ATC does not build the least expensive trailers in the market, but when it comes to purchasing a trailer the old adage, "you get what you pay for," could not be more true.

If you're ready to invest your hard earned dollars toward the purchase of a new trailer, make certain you take the time to understand the differences in the trailers you're considering. You should be looking for the greatest value possible within the budget you have to spend.

As I tell people when they're shopping for a trailer, there are two "Q's" in the trailer manufacturing business. Quality and Quantity. Most manufacturers are geared toward the "quantity" side of manufacturing...it makes sense for them, they're attempting to get the most product through there facility possible.

This kind of manufacturing mentality is not geared toward producing a high quality product, rather volume, numbers and profit at the main goal considered. While these trailers may look OK when they're new, sitting on the dealers lot, they simply aren't built in a manner that will deliver reliable and trouble-free service for any extended period.

At ATC we have always put "quality" first. Our main objective with every trailer we build is to manufacture the absolute highest quality product that will not only meet or exceed your expectations the day you purchase it, but also every year thereafter. When a skilled craftsman pours his heart and soul into his trade the finished product carries with it a part of himself. At ATC we pride ourselves on our commitment to build the absolute best trailers available in the industry.

Value is never measured by how low of a price you can purchase something for...it's gauged by the level of quality you get for the amount of money you spend. At ATC our focus is to provide exceptional value. So if you're in the market for a trailer, look beyond the lowest priced trailer, look for the greatest value...look to ATC.

Aluminum Trailers with Screwless Exteriors

One of the most popular features on ATC trailers continues to be our available screwless aluminum exterior. We first introduced this option back in 2000 and it continues to grow rapidly in popularity. Many people have chosen it due to the clean looking exterior and the ease of installing graphics on the trailer.

Due to the excellent customer feedback we have received on our screwless aluminum exterior, we also offer the same great look for the interior of the trailer. Yes, if you select an aluminum interior, we install it screwless at no additional charge! Why do we do this? We do it because it looks and performs better than any other option. After all, ATC has become known for our industry-leading performance and craftsmanship, why would you expect anything different?

Myrtle Beach Bike Week

Myrtle Beach Bike Week was a success this year and ATC had a little extra surprise at the booth located at Broadway at the Beach...it was one of their GTS all-aluminum, all-tube frames. People were excited to see what normally can't be seen...the actual construction that is hidden under the floor and behind the interior and exterior walls.

As one bystander stated, "Seeing is believing...and now I can better understand what puts ATC in a class all by itself." Most manufacturers wouldn't dare place their bare frame on display, but ATC is proud of their 100% all-aluminum, all-tube construction...in simple terms, there's just nothing to hide!

At ATC we realize the very core of a trailer begins with the frame and we're not willing to sacrifice quality at any level. Just because you don't normally see the frame is no reason to short change your customers...you need to deliver the highest quality product possible and the strength of our trailers begins with a quality frame built to last. Our competitors rely on the strength provided by the addition of interior walls or heavier exterior panels, but at ATC we let our designs and superior materials deliver the unmatched strength!

The frame was such a success in Myrtle Beach don't be surprised if you don't end up seeing more frames at future shows...it just shows you everything and we feel that it's important for our customers to know what they're getting for their hard-earned dollar!

LED Clearance Lights

The Aluminum Trailer Company is always searching for news ways to improve not only the quality of our trailers but the interior and exterior look as well. An important change ATC recently made was to standardize LED lights on all trailer models. LED or light emitting diodes are an example of cutting edge technology. The LED lighting concept is extremely different then traditional incandescent lights. There are three main benefits to an LED lighting system. First traditional incandescent lights use a weak metal filament which is susceptible to bumps and vibration in the road. LED's are a solid system (no moving parts) containing an electronic chip that creates a sturdy lighting device.

Secondly, LED lights are brighter then incandescent lights making them safer while traveling on the road. "In fact studies have shown that LED lights, because of there quicker and brighter response times, provide an extra 24' of stopping distance at 60 mph"** Transportation Equipment News - January 2001

Finally, LED lights consume less energy. (up to 90% less) This means your tow vehicle's electric system is not exuding as much energy to light up your tow vehicle which can help to save fuel and the life of your battery.

Aluminum Extruded Floors in Race Trailers

Did you know that by selecting an aluminum extruded floor in your trailer you can save hundreds of pounds of weight. While aluminum extruded floors weigh slightly less than wood floors, the real savings comes when you compare an extruded floor to a wood floor with a decorative finish. By adding ATP, vinyl, or rubber on top of a wood floor, you can easily add hundreds of pounds to the curb weight of your trailer.

Since aluminum extruded floors are one of the most resilient floor options, it also greatly increases the resale value of your trailer. When it comes time to sell your trailer, you still have a lightweight, durable, good-looking floor.

The other big advantage to extruded floors is the strength it provides. Aluminum extruded floors are one of the strongest floors because when the aluminum floor is welded down to your aluminum frame structure, it acts like a cross member that spans the entire length of the trailer. With an extruded aluminum floor you can have the best of both worlds... the strongest AND lightest floor available.

Buying A Trailer From A Dealer

The Aluminum Trailer Company has worked hard to create a dealer base that possesses an extensive knowledge of our product. It is important to ATC that our dealers are able to understand the engineering, construction and benefits of our trailers which will in return help them place the retail customer in the trailer that will best satisfy their needs. One main training program we have created for our dealers is "stacker certification training". This training program provides them with the tools they need in order to make certain the critical measurements of the vehicles being placed on the lift and main floor are obtained. Only "stacker certified" dealers are able to order and sell stacker trailers from ATC. This helps to ensure the retail customer is being sold a product by a trained professional. Please contact ATC toll free at(877) 441-2440 for an ATC dealer near you!

Fuel Savings - ATC Trailers Save Money

Yeah, you heard it right, "Buy and ATC Aluminum Trailer and Save Money". Did you know that the typical ATC all-aluminum trailer weighs 30% less than a comparably equipped steel trailer. That means when you pull your ATC trailer, you'll save 1500# in curb weight when compared to your buddy pulling a 5000# steel trailer. That is a lot of weight savings my friend! Last time I filled up my truck at the gas station they weren't exactly giving away gas. With gas prices upwards of $3.00 per gallon, wouldn't you rather pull 1500# less weight?

Another place ATC trailers will save you money is when it comes time to sell your trailer. A great looking ATC used trailer will demand a high resale value. But we'll save that discussion for another blog. Until then, Happy Trailering!

Mobile Wine Bottling

Mobile "Counter-Pressure" Bottling Now Available
By Bill Pregler
From Daily News Links, 04/17/2007
Prospero Equipment Company of Pleasantville, New York announced they are in the final assembly stages of the first mobile "counter pressure" bottling line in the United States. Featuring a GAI 1532 Isobaric monoblock the trailer will be capable of bottling any carbonated product. Isobaric bottling is performed under pressure, while still wine is bottled with non-pressurized, gravity-flow fillers. Winemakers who practice the "Charmat" style of sparkling wine production will now be able to utilize mobile services without having to purchase the expensive, specialized equipment. Charmat is a bulk process where sparkling wine is produced and fermented in pressurized stainless tanks as opposed to the traditional methode' champenoise in individual bottles. It must also be bottled under continuous pressure, from the tank to the bottle, hence the specialized monoblock. In addition this versatile equipment is also capable of bottling beer and still wines. Initially the trailer was to operate primarily in the North East portion of the country, but already there is talk of visiting the mid-western states. Following the bottle rinser and filler, the bottling line will feature multiple turrets, containing a Technovin screw capping head, a crown capper for beers, and a corker capable of inserting sparkling wine style corks. The corker then will be followed with a Robino-Galandrino wire hooder. "This is a unique opportunity for the smaller producer of Charmat and micro beers to bottle their product," said Danny Prospero, vice-president of the company. "The nine-spout filler bowl is designed for smaller runs of twenty-five bottles per minute, or about 1,000 cases per day" The U-shaped bottling line is being installed into a custom designed, heavy duty gooseneck trailer built by ATC (Aluminum Trailer Company) of Nappanee, Indiana. It will be self contained and feature on-board steam sterilization and filtration. It will not have labeling. Carbonated, counter pressure filling requires that cold bottling temperatures are maintained to keep CO2 suspended in the medium. A good analogy is the difference between opening a cold can of cola verses a warm can. Due to the inherent cold, condensation occurs on the outside of the full bottles, and as a result labels will not adhere. Bottles will be offloaded into bins or case good boxes and labeled later.

ATC Aluminum Stacker Car Hauler Trailers

The all aluminum Signature Series Stacker is specially designed for those of you who need more car hauling and cargo carrying capacity. Our Signature Series Stacker trailer enables you to bring multiple vehicles on two levels. Our precision engineered, all-aluminum frame delivers a higher payload than our competitor's steel frame stacker trailers. You might even be surprised at just how easy it is to tow an all-aluminum stacker. How is this trailer different? For starters, our all-aluminum design doesn't stop with just the frame. We offer an all-aluminum hydraulic lift, custom-designed by our innovative engineering team. This cuts the overall weight of the trailer down significantly when compared to a standard steel lift. Secondly, our attention to detail and ability to customize this trailer to your needs is simply the best in the business. We're not bragging... it's just the truth.

Completing the Package - GTS / Boss Hoss / Porsche

I've heard it time and time again, "I've got a nice truck and a great bike...what I need now is a trailer that compliments them." Well, there's little doubt from anyone that the GTS is THE premier motorcycle trailer in the industry. Time and time again cyclists are "completing their package" and investing in a GTS.
During the 2006 Daytona Bike Week rally I was fortunate enough to help one of our customers "complete the package." He had a Boss Hoss with a beautiful custom paint job and the big V-8 motor! His tow vehicle, none other than a Porsche Cayenne...so you want to talk about someone eager to complete the package, this was it! When you have these kind of "toys" you're not interested in a run of the mill trailer, you're looking for something that sets you apart from the crowd...you just won't settle for the ordinary!
Well, enter the GTS; and our customer couldn't have been more excited about his new trailer. A black Porsche Cayenne pulling a black GTS, it really just doesn't get much better than that...that is until he unloads his Boss Hoss. It's not hard to imagine what a spectacle it is when he drops the rear ramp door and fires up his Boss Hoss V-8 engine...backing this machine out of the GTS is quite a site.
You don't have to own a Boss Hoss or a Porsche Cayenne to appreciate the superior quality, fit and finish of a GTS (but it doesn't hurt)!

Aluminum Trailer Frames

What makes ATC trailers the best in the business? While our attention to detail and overall craftsmanship has gained a lot of attention, the best part of our trailers may be the part that you have never seen. Its our frame! ATC builds an all-aluminum frame that is durable enough for even the most rigorous commercial applications.

Keep in mind, when we say all-aluminum frame, we mean all-aluminum frame. We are the only aluminum trailer manufacturer that can claim that "every structural member of the trailer frame is 100% aluminum." Try taking that to the other manufacturers.

Screwless Aluminum Exterior On Trailers

There are numerous standard features and available options the Aluminum Trailer Company offers on their high quality all aluminum trailer. One feature that has visibly improved the appearance of a trailer is the screwless aluminum exterior. Many trailer manufacturers either rivet or screw the aluminum sheet into the side wall. This application is distracting from the beauty of the trailer especially if graphics are being applied to personalize the trailer.

ATC uses a 3M product called VHB to create a screwless exterior. VHB is a technologically advanced adhesive that bonds the aluminum skin to the side wall. Not only does this product create a smooth finish for the exterior, it also fills irregularities and gaps between surfaces to help keep out both water and dirt.

Not only is screwless exterior a pickable option on every trailer we build, it also comes standard on our GTS, Fastlane and Toy Haulers!

Aluminum Trailer Company Warranty

The Aluminum Trailer Company's warranty is a 3 year limited warranty program that begins from the date of purchase. ATC's warranty is non-transferable and is limited to defects within the workmanship that was performed by ATC. Various components of the trailer such as tires, wheels, axles, coupler, jack, windows and doors are covered by the original equipment manufacturers and should be filed with them.

Our warranty also covers all electrical work and wiring for up to one year. ATC is flexible and willing to allow various repair facilities to correct the problem if the trailer cannot be returned to ATC.

The 3M VHB tape that ATC uses for creating a screwless exterior is also covered in ATC's warranty. It is important to remember that there is a limited temperature rating on this product. In extreme situations, if the unit exceeds this temperature, this may cause bonding issues with the screwless exterior. If problems arise ATC will rivet or screw in the walls as part of our warranty procedure.

Luxury Aluminum Motorcycle Trailers

ATC has created a new niche in the motorcycle trailer market for "Luxury Aluminum Motorcycle Trailers". We decided to tap into this market about four years ago for three key reasons. 1)We are really good at building high-end trailers. 2)We heard our customers asking for a "better" motorcycle trailer. 3) Lastly, we never understood why someone would spend $25,000 (and much, much more) on a nice bike and then haul it to a rally in a junky steel trailer.

We recognize that our motorcycle trailers do cost more than some of the "other guys". We designed our trailers are for the guys and gals out there who are truly passionate about great biking. We know we are in a smaller market than the mass-produced motorcycle trailers, but it sure puts a warm spot in our hearts knowing that we build the best trailer that money can buy.

Take a good look at our motorcycle offerings. They look great in photos, but you really have to see one in person to fully understand the passion that goes into each and everyone of our motorcycle trailers.
